@@madhatten5123 I heard that hahahahah. I actually played ESO for a few months with my cousin. I enjoyed it but I mostly just enjoyed getting to game with him. My main gripe with ESO is the RNG gear farming and the progression in general. I don't enjoy playing just one game really, and ESO feels like one of those games where you are on the hook to play almost nothing else if you want to farm your max CP and kit your gear sets, etc. The shame of it is, other than the janky animations, ESO is actually SO full of so much fun content and as an ES universe game, I actually enjoyed the story and stuff, which I usually only care about PVP. The progression and gameplay in GW2 are just too good for my personal playstyle and my goals to consider playing any MMOs that are dictated by never ending grinding and RNG. And because I don't HAVE to play to stay at the power level I'm at, because I'm not pressured to play or fall behind, I probably wind up playing MORE lol

@@Esufer Good note for sure. Yeah when I said "weaving" I guess that was a bit misleading in the sense that- it's not REALLY weaving. So yeah that's true, can hit it with any of the GS or Staff / etc abilities. And yeah I like catching people with the C2TB combo out of a Spectral Recall as well. Don't think I've ever tried it with Wurm, will have to go for that. I didn't go for it in the gameplay review, but I've pulled it off a few times, The Spectral Recall / C2TB combo. @KryticalError5 ай бұрын
Hey, thank you for the kind words, so right now, I would probably NOT play Greatsword in PVP or WvW as a solo roamer - I do think you could play Greatsword for WvW if you're in a group of any size. I think the issue with GS as a solo roamer is it's a very slow weapon. It can hit like a truck, but in WvW you're going up against a lot of Willbenders, Thieves, Mesmers, Harbs and Necros who are usually running pistol or 1hand Sword. These are all fast specs and fast weapons. GS can feel a little rough as a solo VS these. I'd recommend trying 1h Sw or Pistol / Dagger or Pistol / Torch. If you're running a power build in general, Fireworks will probably do fine!

very good video and explanations. editing for showing all the skills while the explanations is on point. i think reaper is one of the best designed specs in game, clear strenghts and weaknesses. fun to play. event tough i wouldn't play reaper myself, since this class too easy get countered by literally everything that knows how to counter it with range and mobility. but if someone like to duel or play it in groupe with decent support, its big fun and has huge impact.

Yeah, I completely agree. Like I mentioned and we are clearly on the same page - against elusive specs or very good players who hold dodges and stun breaks and know how to kite - you will need to play perfectly to win. Still, man Reaper is one of those specs in the game where it just LOOKS and FEELS cool lol. It's a very good tip, that's for sure, especially for beginners, as you said. Sometimes I'll do something in a video or show something in a guide that I chose to do in a specific moment - or maybe not even that, but just showing something is possible. It's not always a recommendation from me that other players do this thing or that thing - but I think it's useful to show mindset and approach, and from time to time show some things in the game that are possible - if not always practical or wise lol. Appreciate the tip for beginners my friend!

Quickening thirst was replace with Overflowing thirst. What should we do then ? Still use?
@KryticalError Жыл бұрын
Oh, I've been busy on a Harbinger guide and forgot to update this. TLDR is take Ritual of Life. I'll explain below. So Overflowing Thirst has literally zero value for this specific build now. Unless you choose to run a dagger and (insert off hand here) - then, you would still run it. If you are going to run the exact build with Greatsword and Staff, I would take Ritual of Life. Blood Bond only has one way to trigger it, Mark of Blood, and the value isn't really there, compared to Ritual of Life, which will always be useful as long as you make a conscious effort to rezz downed allies.

Hahahahah man I appreciate that so much. I'm gonna be putting a Harbinger guide up here shortly after the release of SOTO, and plan to make more guides. I'm a mutliclasser really, but I've kind of become a light armor main, so you might get your wish sooner than later. Thanks again! :D

@@KryticalError What a literal god, thank you so much for doing this! Really helps out. I have a feeling that some people get lost in guides, especially if they are new. You explaining attacks without expecting people to have the whole wiki in their heads.. just helps out tremendously. Keep doing what you are doing, you're the best tutorial guy on youtube that I know of when it comes to gw2!

@@brewzer7911 Ahhhhhh man that's way too generous, but I appreciate the love for sure. Glad you enjoyed the video and you can expect the same level or better from me with future class guides for sure! Appreciate ya!

Thank you for the video. Is this build also PvE viable? I really have no interest in anything PvP.
@KryticalError Жыл бұрын
Hahahah hey there, I appreciate you taking the time to check out the video, even if you're not interested in PVP! You can run a PWR Reaper build with GS and Staff in PVE. Keep in mind you'll be tailoring it quite a bit more to PVE utility. I haven't looked at it much, but here's the Metabattle page for the PWR GS/Staff PVE take on this build. metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Reaper_-_Power_DPS

Hi I’m new to gw2. Stumbled into this video, I know it’s 2024 now, is this build still viable especially in wvw roaming? I believe the game has gone through several patches
@KryticalError11 ай бұрын
Hey there, thanks for checking out the video, and great question. Yes, this build is still pretty viable for roaming. There are some changes of course, and now we have the Relic system. I'm not too sure what Rune set up I would run with this build currently, anything power or survival oriented would be fine, tho. For the Relic, I'd probably run Fireworks, it's just an overall good power oriented / DPS relic. In the Blood Magic tree, Quickening Thirst was changed to Overflowing Thirst, and now it only provides life force generation for dagger, so you can ditch it for Blood Bond. The rest of the traits should still be fine. Since you're a new player and playing Necro, pretty soon I will be publishing a new guide for my main Necro spec, Harbinger. I have several montages on my channel if you're into montages, and the Beginner Friendly Deep Dive will be EVEN MORE detailed and beginner friendly than this guide. I don't want to give an exact timeline since I'm putting so much work into it, but I hope to have it up before the end of the month, with a lot more content to follow. Cheers and welcome to the game!

Very thankful for your guide! Subscribed! I’ll be waiting for your Harbinger guide. Hopefully my char will be ready by then. 😊

Would you be willing to share all your key binds?
@KryticalError9 ай бұрын
Hey my friend, my keybinds are just the standard / default keybinds in game. I map them to a Razer Tartarus RGB on my left hand, and a Corsair Scimitar for my mouse. I have 3 different profiles that I use on the mouse for Open World, WvW, and PVP. But the binds themselves are just default binds. I don't know if my peripheral set up warrants a video or anything, but maybe?

but why cant i use the greatsword?all the skills are grey
@KryticalError6 ай бұрын
Sorry for the delay in response. I forget why that happens. But I think if you just weapon swap and then weapon swap BACK to the Greatsword, you should unlock those skills. The only other thing I can think of is maybe you still have to train the Reaper traitline to unlock all the weapon skills, but I'm not 100% sure. Let me know if weapon swapping fixed it for you!

I finally went all in on berserker gear and man it melts in pve and even wvw but I noticed in wvw if I get hit by multiple enemy I die crazy fast if I can’t get in and out of shroud, that’s why I started making a 2nd build of marauder gear, I already had enough chests saved so it didn’t cost me for the armor. Staff is very nice when your in a Zerg or low on heath and need to get out but the damage is pretty rough but rebuilding life force from range can really help u
@KryticalError10 ай бұрын
Hell yeah dude! Glass can't last, but it sure can do a lot of damage when played right lol. You don't have to worry about sustain if you just kill everything fast enough! Still, whenever I'm running a power build, I rarely run full Bezerker in WvW. Not as good as my man @esufer with that gameplay, check him out for sure, the zerk Reaper god. I do play zerker Amulet in PVP quite a bit tho, especially on bursty glassy builds. Cheers, thanks for dropping a comment on the video!

Great guide and explanation. I love my reaper and this guide deftly taught me a handful of nifty tricks and things to try out. You earned a like and sub from me man. Keep up the great work!

Heyyyy, cheers I appreciate that! I have a couple of recent Harbinger montages, and before that, a couple of Reaper montages. They should have popped up as end screens. Consider checking them out if you like montages, I always love playing Reaper and mixing it up. Appreciate ya!
