Hey all! Just thought I'd finally make a vid about the WvW Roaming build I've been using (with tweaks over time) for a couple of years now. I hope you enjoy it!

once I put a sanctuary on top of someone, they got pushed towards me, I did shield 5 and they pinballed right back to the sanctuary and bounced off it again. It was glorious.

wow! This build looked really fun so I ran it tonight during dailies. This is what I've been missing as a firebrand!! I 1v3'd defending my camp and took out two foes, almost the third. Then I went toe-to-toe with a thief and won after like 2 minutes of grinding down. I don't take camps as fast as I used to, but the survivability and the ability to attrition down my opponents is worth it IMO. I'm loving the anti-toxin runes. And I hadn't really thought about the benefit of just adding tons of conditions to keep the burning uptime vs cleanse. That really helps too. Thanks for the build!

Love seeing more Sanctuary in WvW. Good for holding chokes and tossing some people off a bridge if you aim it right too.

Awesome, to me firebrand in WvW is a support focused profession, so seeing it as a roamer destroying people is fantastic.

I named this technique as "condi choke" for my condi soulbeast build. in a similar way i give lots of condis in a small time gap. while opponent struggles to remove them, my main damage source bleed makes the work.

Man.. I've seen other cover condi builds.. But this one is taking it to the next level.. I'm eager to try this in pvp 😁😁.. Ofc some changes on amulets and runes will have to adjust for

It's not as effective in pvp cause of the different gear available. Also Firebrand is a bit weaker in pvp than in WvW to start with

Hey! So it's a mix of Phalanx armor (gemstore skin) and Radiant armor (Achievement chest skin). The shoulders and gloves you get from earning a certain amount of achievement points (I forget how much)

JUST recently they reverted to the old version of Mantras (where you have to recharge them after using all 3 charges), and it makes the build a bit more difficult to use, actually.

Very interesting build will definitely try it, my only concern would be the lack of disengages and general mobility. I think i would just have to commit and go down fighting lol

Yup! It's a very freeing experience. You know you'll never escape so you just fully commit to every fight

@@WorldofEnders So i've been trying the build and the biggest problem I have is sanctuary's cast time. I can't drop it as a defensive option, by the time it's cast I'm downed :p Any tips? I feel like I need quickness on weapon swap or something. Ability cast time feels painfully slow

You can quick equip a tome to give quickness then cast the sanctuary.

so i have similar build iexcept i have Honor 3,3,2 for more group and defensive content been playing with it for a while and its pretty cool. but my question is, if I were to add wvw infusions. would you suggest I put concentration, condi or Precision infusions?

Because of my virtues grandmaster, I get a good amount of extra damage from my Justice Passive procs, so I only want to use the tome if I really need to (otherwise I don't get the passive burns until it's off cool down)

I actually haven't been using infusions with it. Maybe condi damage WvW infusions? Or power to round out the build a bit more.

Because I tend to stick in and lead with my axe/torch set in fights, and so with blight I don't have to rely on swapping weapons to get the poison.

@@augenezum yup, still works. Just take whichever grandmaster trait works for you, and only use tome skills when you need them. Also, you can pop in and out of a tome now to get quickness every 8s

Hey great vid! How exactly do the new grandmaster traits work since there is no CD going in and out of tomes? Does it only matter if you spend all your pages until you have at least 1? Also, how do you get quickness every 8 sec now?

@@johnwong2305 when you go in a tome, it gives you a debuff specific to that tome that makes the passive stop working, even if you don't use any pages. The quickness comes from the second minor trait that just gives you a bit of quickness when you enter any tome, with a 8s icd.

I tried adapting this build to PvP, but haven't had a chance to actually try it out. Do you think something like this would work?

It's rough for pvp. The gear is different so you don't have celestial and a bunch of necessary runes/sigils. Also the traits and skills themselves for Firebrand are nerfed in pvp compared to WvW. It might be ok, but not fantastic.

I think I'm just using generic WvW ones atm. You can really use anything... Probably condi damage is best

Probably put it back to the Honor version. (Honor traitline instead of Radiance). Switch the heal skill to the mantra, take the rez trait, and the heal on aegis trait. Also fit the stability shout in there somehow, and you can take Tempest Runes instead of antitoxin. It'd be different, more like the old version of the build

hmmm, well it's definitely just a video. I'm gonna wait until the HD is finished processing and see if there's still issues. Maybe try to reduce your video quality until then and see if that works.
