GW2 WvW - These Classes are going to get nerfed - 19 March 2024

The boonrip is getting nerfed every patch, but finally we also got a nerf to the best support classes : i'm not sure where the meta will drift this time, but i'm sure it will not remain unchanged.

TLDR; You WILL learn to only play firebrands, aurashare healing tempests, berzerkers and spellbreakers in WvW and you will like it!

started playing about 6 months ago on a mesmer, ended up liking chrono the most of these specs, now im not fully sure what to do when these nerfs hit as i wasnt too fond of Virtu/Mirage. not sure what (/how) ill end up playing next, well see. =P

@metallonegw2283 i dont doubt that ^ ^ just wondering how these changes and the new gun will affect my playstyle just hope it dont turn out to be "just another healer" if u get me lol. was liking my tweaked boon support build.. well see what these changes will do, time will tell =)

@@kaaskeizer more heals and barriers, boons still very good. The main nerfs are on null field, condi cleanses and stability mantra

Everybody missed it but Mirage is being slowly introduced in WvW. -------- Dune Cloak: This trait has been reworked. Gain Mirage Cloak when you shatter 2 or more clones. ------ In combination with Self Deception, Support Mirage could actually be a thing when the rifle will be available.

I absolutely hate how they'd rather kill a build in general (heal scourge), rather than actually make it balanced. Ress pulling is too strong? Great, just remove the pull. Barriers are too opressive? Either replace some of it with healing or nerf barriers in wvw in general (decrease cap from 50% of max HP to 30% or something like that). Scourge being strong is bad, but Firebrands being a must in every squad is totally smh.

@@marcomunich the nerfs are kinda huge, but there's no really other class who can provide decent boonstrip and barriers at the same time, so maybe it will remain meta just because of the unique mechanics. I hope warrior will replace scourge but i have doubts.

Those nerfs might bring heal Spellbreaker with Staff and Aura Share Tempest back..but I doubt Aura share wil make it....I think ANET wants that all supports are kind of meta(Heal Scourge, Aura Tempest, Druid, Heal Vindi, Heal/Support Spellbreaker and Boon Chrono)....they might be on the right path but I think Tempest needs a few buffs(something like Resistance and Stab) and Heal Scourge got too many nerfs with this patch(not sure though). They should give Heal/Support Warrior with Staff more condi cleanse or/and more Barrier options with Traits

My spellbreaker staff support build video will release in 2-3 days. I think barrier is fine, cleanses are not.

@@metallonegw2283 I've been playing core heal warrior and spellbreaker heal since release of this patch and condi cleanses are very bad. Spellbreaker mitigates it a bit by at least copying the conditions back to people but in reality, condi classes will destroy heal warriors pretty bad, both in pvp and wvw.

@@metallonegw2283 Yeah true. Once cleanses are covered, it's an extremely tanky and survivable build. I did notice however that healing as a warrior is still kinda clunky in the sense of burst healing because the animations (skill 3 staff) take forever to land and it's not a rare occurence that you completely miss the heal because by the time you arrive there people already disperse. It is a great burst healer however for tight zergs. The amount of burst you can do with it is insane, especially if you stack the barrier banner + warhorn 5 + staff 3 + staff F1 + shouts if specced in tactics, you can output some very serious burst. All in all I'd say it is a very fun build to play in wvw and organised groups. Just don't expect to survive a 1v1 vs something like a condi harb for long.

Vigor is a good boom, but almost every class can give it or have it itself, while alacrity is way more rare

i guess if its condi cleans u want u come with the counter by a heavier confusion condi build . 99% of the ppl that play much less solo can fight a mesmer on greatsword or staff that has some sort of clue anyways...any other weapon the same. these r not nerfs these are attempts at balancing something so absurdly out of whack it shouldn't have had a competitive feature to start(wvw).....additionally, when server population (numbers wise) is consistently greater than 1 server and the class selection is so limited, everything feels like a nerf!!!!!! and again there is no balance on the class that summons a clone arbitrarily on a weapon if not passively as an aspect of the profession, why can't necros summon minions or proc more jagged horrors on skills? why can't thieves proc thieves on skills? look at thief if u want to understand real nerfs, never changes...100% dead so much so spector had to replace the playstyle.
