I didn't know what to expect when I went to see the show in one of the first few rows. Yeah, it was the splash zone. I was wondering why the Security was wearing rain gear and why the bass boxes were housed in plastic. Yeah, I found out the hard way. I had my raincape with me this evening, but I didn't care. Got color sprayed all the way to my underwear. and those with white t-shirts got eveen more. But wow, once I was wet I didn't care and had fun. I was totally spend and exhausted from the heat on that day anyways and I had so much fun. This was extreme, perfect for festivals. An awesome festival show and a lot of fun!

The gap between the stage and the crowd is quite big at Wacken Open Airs main stages. I remember the last time they played that the various blood and poison goop sprays barely hit the first row of people. Sadly I missed GWAR this year because I spontaneously decided to watch Belphegor instead with my pal. Next time I will go see GWAR again.

More entertaining than most bands actually, the costumes must be very hot inside though. I can't see having fake blood sprayed on you as being enjoyable but maybe some people are okay with it.

Seen Gwar live 3 times now. Been to huge dance festivals, arena shows, local dive bars and everything in-between. Gwar is still THE BEST live show I've ever experienced. Even with Oderus gone, still dope.
