Be careful in the Philippines. Especially when travelling alone in the rural town where Gweilo does not have the safety by the number situation. Baiting the kittens with $ is generally a bad idea because the tigers are waiting in the bush. These people do not have jobs and preying on tourists are the source of income.

I been to China 3 times so many things to see so little time. So far only travel to big cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen that's where the planes land from my country. I am too lazy to travel outside of those cities. Love to travel to smaller provinces will make more efforts in my next trip. Fall in love with China its culture and people. Food is amazing i diet before i travel to China and diet after i return. Already planning for my next vacation to China .lol

You may want to take a HSR train from Shanghai to Hangzhou, for 180 km distance it takes 50 mins…there is a beautiful West Lake with a lot of bridges, temples and pagodas around the lake. You shall also visit Xi’an, the ancient capital of China with rich culture and heritage. You will also find Yunnan (a province in Southwest China) amazing with 25 ethnic groups and colourful culture similar to Thailand, Burma, Tibet, Laos and Vietnam…beautiful ancient towns and astonishing landscape (snow mountains, farmlands, rivers and numerous lakes).

@@icebaby6714 If you go south from Hangzhou, there are many lovely places. Shaoxing is beautiful and peaceful and well worth the visit. I have lived not too far away from there for 19 years.

@@icebaby6714 Hangzhou IS gorgeous. And wonderful mix of ancient historical sites/culture plus modern. Last year I was there during the Asian games for 2 weeks. Just 10 minute walk from West lake and the night market. LOVED it. I like Guangzhou a lot as well.

My first Wife came from ORMOC CITY on the other side of LEYTE so visited about 5 times over 16 years we were together. Yes SUPERB PEOPLE until she finds someone else Younger and taller etc. Gave me a superb chance to get with LILY and have a daughter who is now almost 17. The airstrip in Tacloban is superb and yes an aircraft has overshot and gone in the sea. White beach is a superb place. Love David and Lily.

you should come hang with me. My second post retirement solo trip is this fall. I'll be going to Taipei for a week in August, then to China to see 28+ cities (and 17 minority villages) starting in Inner Mongolia and working my way around. After China i will go to Singapore, and then back to Shenzhen and Guangzhou. All my hotels, trains, and planes are booked! Last year I was 5 months throughout four countries (Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, China) and a LOT of cities. How's that for not settling in one place. You should meet up with me somewhere this fall! I'm there till Nov 4. lol I do wish I had a home base in China to travel out of... would be so much easier. lol

Short holiday in Philippine is fine but not longterm, its not a safe place and least visitors coming from ASEAN countries so that's the reason. Now the druglords and kidnappers ( from the dark police ) are coming out targeting foreigners

To be honest you sound like you had a few beers already and riding your ebike. So reports are 22 people dead in the Philippines, 3 dead in Taiwan and 220 injured due to the typhoon. With that said you're talking about missing flights, no refund, long day of traveling coming up and not one word yet , 10:53 of a 15:32 long video about the people who really suffered and lost damaged homes or business.
