In this scene, Gwen confessed her feelings for miles when she said “Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-Man” but also rejects romance because it doesn’t end well. Gwen offers friendship over romance because she truly loves miles and doesn’t want to lose him. Miles saying there is a first time for everything just gives her that little sense of hope that it can all workout. Throughout the whole movie Gwen calls miles a friend and doesn’t describe anyone else that because it’s her way of saying “ I have catch feelings for u, but can’t fall for u” and plus she feels more personally and emotionally connected to miles than the rest of the others in the spider society which is why she kept talking about him and couldn’t stop thinking about him when they were separated. I like how at the end miles taught Gwen it’s all possible that she can have a relationship with him because instead miles looking up to Gwen, we are now looking at Gwen looking up to miles. Honestly, what an incredible romance/love story.

This is how you do a natural romance in film. In the comics, earth-8 is a world that miles and Gwen have a happy ending. And that world is heavily implied to be the future of earth-65. In summary, Gwen is definitely not going to die because her true destiny is to be with miles. Also it’s been said by the writers that they are going to have a satisfying conclusion to this trilogy.

I agree 100%. I think in the next movie Gwen’s not going to hold anything back anymore in her heart and just open up to miles. And thankfully hobie is coming along, so he’ll prob corroborate her words by saying it is true that she’s in love with miles and that her and him (hobie) are just pals. This is honestly one of the best romances I’ve seen on film. A genuine and real love between two characters and nothing like sex or anything else taints it. I’ve seen the same thing in a cop show called blue bloods. With one of the main family members and a cop partner he gets. I’m hoping Gwen does as I mentioned above and doesn’t mess around. Because told her pops that one thing was clear to her despite her confusion after what happened with the society, she couldn’t lose miles. Like as if miles was her main priority now. Facts. It sucks that Gwen and Peter couldn’t get together. But I think it’s breath of fresh air when it comes to Miles and Gwen. Their dynamic and chemistry is off the charts. But mostly their romantic tension and love/relationship moments is what makes this movie perfect. The songs from across the two movies like hide, sunflower, self love, hummingbird, Mona Lisa, Another dimension, link up, home and calling. Deceive their relationship amazingly to a T. BTSV will focus deep emotionally on miles and Gwen relationship and have a satisfying conclusion. If done right they will be the best spider couple in spider movie and probably best animated.

Just gonna put some animation details out, that seem like real reactions to their situation 0:18 - These coloured lines when Gwen is jumping off 1:03- Miles changes his posture into a more sarcastic manner. Tilting his head. 1:13 - Miles took inititiave 🤣 1:30 - Just look at how happy Miles is, you can tell how happy is to be around her but is nervous. Also, I don't know if they actually have their faces changed because they're sittin' upside down. Seems a bit more noticeable on Gwen 1:37 - Gwen exhales at the thought of Miles thinking, that Hobie and her have a thing 1:40 - Miles throws nothing off of his suit, to probably save face and distract him. Gwen flutters her eyes. 1:47 - You can see Miles saving face here again and he tries to make a joke about it. (Which is such a teenage thing to do). Gwen squints her eyebrows and reacts genuinely. Kind of looks like a "Are you serious" or a "Really?" type of face but not in a bad way. It's more profound but idk. Can't find the right words for it. 2:05 - Gwen swallows and closes her eyes, as if she knows the truth will probably hurt him. 2:07 - Miles looking up and down at Gwens hand. Waiting for a response 2:13 - Miles' pained expression, he's in disbelief and it probably hurt. So he looks at her and off his eyes go to the city. 2:15 - Now, one of my favourite shots of the movie. Gwen looks over, you can tell she's letting Miles down slowly but she does also like him too. She dims her eyes, blinking while smirking, showing that she enjoys his company. Even if she feels she can't be with him right now. I just love how real she looks here, it's a defined expression and she's speaking without saying a thing! 2:20 - Miles' acceptance right here! He's so sweet.. Even though it isn't what he wanted, he still smiled and respected Gwen 2:24 - He makes sure to let her know that he is still there for that opportunity, if the best comes to them. Giving a more confident look to project his message. 2:26 - So cute. She liked that comment, closing her eyes and letting out a tiny giggle before they both look longingly. The framing of the shot is more for Miles though, since they've showed he's willing to be content for their relationship. (Cus we need to see these two get together fr) 2:33 - Not so subtle but, since their upside down. Gwen is using more force to rest on Miles' shoulder. Love that their shoulders also smoosh together, it looks so damn natural. Also moves Miles a little bit. Just love this movie all around. Every piece of this movie was an art form and I can't stop watching. Maybe I'm just gawking but this movie is filled with subtlety. This is one of the best scenes in the movie, from a character perspective and animation alone.

This is what actually the scene tries to portray. There exists so much depth and feelings that it can be realised only through facial expressions. Through their eyes they are communicating not only respect,admiration, and enjoying the company of each other but also the love . On knowing that Miles is assuring her to be always their for her as a guide, friend and ofcourse the emotional support partner whenever anything goes downhill with her ,is that moment she understood how much Miles wanted her and genuinely loved her and she is falling for the right person. So again she put the effort to be as close to him thus finally giving him the "shoulder touch". The hesitation to be with him was changed to determination of ensuring Miles safety and finally accepting her strong feelings for him while Rio mentioned how Miles acted around Gwen,represented she has completely fallen for him by the end of ATSV. The end of this scene always annoys me. It's sweet and all that she leans against him, but usually to lean on someone, you're working with gravity.
