@@ronpudding9598 A lot of American Primitive is in C (same tuning but the highest string is an E) or even B so the B string doesn’t have to go up a semitone.
@jpwaterman51043 жыл бұрын
My freind's guitar teacher was calling it open D minor (Dadfad). John Fahey played in open C like was mentioned but he did not restrict himself to that tuning by any means. Seems to me the general concept of the open tuning is partly what drives the "American Primitive" technique, but not any specific tuning. Letting those open string ring when the guitar is banged upon, getting the drones and dissonance in there...

@fieldstone19343 жыл бұрын
@@alexarchibald9783 As somehow who listens to Fahey almost religiously, Gwenifer takes her composition and note selection almost entirely from Fahey's early records (Vol. 1 through 3 mostly). Her right hand is much more manic, and her rolls much more banjo like - but the imitation is very real.

Be easy, on Stephen, everyone- he's had a guitar stuck up his ass for...60 years...thats a mighty long time to have a guitar stuck up one's bum, yes indeedy. I really like this song, too! This guitarist is inspiring to me and I like the recklessness. Its edgy and its what she's going for. And I'm quite sure she doesn't give a damn about what some old man thinks of her appearance vs. her playing.
