Nice. I have the GWG-2000-1A3. It may not be made in Japan but compared to my JDM G-shocks, which are, built quality is very good. CASIO is an ISO / Six Sigma Global corporation so those comments about non-made in JAPAN G-Shocks being of lesser quality are just urban myths not based on any hard facts. Everybody is free to believe whatever they want, of course. It's their money.

Agreed. It's foolish to think that place of production would matter.

I have a few Japanese gshocks, my observation; if it's from Japan (cased), it's good anyway. If it's not from Japan, it CAN be good. Mudmasters from Thailand and gsteels from China, for instance, are at least as good as Japan cased.

I was choosing over the GWG-1000 and the 2000. I ended up getting the 1000 for the sole reason that I like how heavy the GWG-1000 is.

Smart move if you're actually gonna be using the watch. I've beaten up my 1K over the past five years. The band finally gave out and broke a few weeks ago. Cost less than $200US for parts to rebuilt it. It'll look brand new and will last another 5 years. It'd be much more more expensive to rebuilt the 2K.

I would like to see this on your "Whats inside" series and compare it to the GWG-1000. It looks good and I hope it's some what scratch resistant since those parts don't come cheap

I really like the 2k but I have to go through a metal detector to get into work and taking it off everytime I go in and out would be a nuisance. Might go with the 1k. (I have neither yet. GW-A1100 still going strong after 6 years daily wear.

It's always good to see how Casio has done to make G-shock more advanced in technology aspects, while the increasing price of them make me feel is it really necessary to buy them instead of buying those with cheaper price and with basic functions?

Great video, I like the design elements on this new mudmaster. I have the old gwg-1000-1a3er, and I recently compared to one of my friends new gwg 2000. I don't know why but I like the one piece resin bezel on the older model, the scratches are not that visible, and the shiny metal bezel is not the best in some conditions. The 2k is not that thick, I like that, but I find out the lug to lug is a little bigger on the new model, so the older one sits better on my wrist. Also the crystal is more recessed on the older gwg1k and more protected. So for outdoor activities and maybe military the older one is more practical. Another great alternative I use outdoor is the gw- 9400 rangeman. And right now I'm using the GW-9500 mudman. This new shiny mudmaster is nice, but for the urban jungle, so in my experience resin is great in absorbing shocks and scratches. My full metal g-shock GMW-B5000D-1ER is full of scratches and looks horrible.

i owned GPR B1000 since first release and ended up selling it 5 months ago. what i dont really like is the navigation, we should use phone to getting from point to point and send it via bluetooth to the watch. i cant imagine doing this in middle of forest that dont have any signal. apart from these, this watch is excellent. three of my friends said its like a TANK in my wrist. i believe they will introduce new features of navigation in GPR 2000. i ended up getting fenix 5x used one. the navigation and display is so good to have, but if u want a long lasting watch, better buy a rangeman.
@pixelambience1767 Жыл бұрын
i dont understand why someone would want to replace scratched parts? Its a G Shock, surely its meant to have wear? All watches are, i have some fairly expensive automatics, all have some scratches on their bezels, its part of owning a watch. And if it's stainless steel, as long as it isn't gouged you can always polish most scratches out.
@jonatansterling3972 жыл бұрын
The steel ring bezel makes the watch looks more premium than the old GWG 1000. But don't you think it is also more vulnerable to defect or scratch than the old one ?
@jakubholub1622 жыл бұрын
Surely it is unless the ring is made out of titanium. I got your point but worrying about getting your GShocks scratched kinda steals the soul and purpose of the whole Gshock family, since its watch made to be used and abused.... and every scratch made can tell a story :)
@Impulse84615 ай бұрын
The only difference with this watch against the GWG 1000 is the tough Solar included & metal used & other materials in its construction. Other wise All function are identical. Why spend for a very very similar watch. I’ll wait for the B2000 like I did for the 1000 upgrade to B 1000 ! 👍🏼

There is no reason to believe they would apply the complex bezel structure of the MRG-B5000 on their lesser models. The main reason why the bezel of the MRG is split up in parts is to make it easier to polish/brush the different surfaces and to create sharper, more defined edges between them. The complex build is also reflected in the high price, so let’s keep the affordable G-Shock watches affordable please!

gwg 2000 --> I am so disappointed! ... to be honest, such a watch for THAT price is a real disappointment, i tried the gwg 2000 for a week now and i have to say - what the fuck? You can forget about altimeters and compasses, every smartphone or other watch can measure that better, the sensors are years old and just junk. then a 600-700 euro outdoor watch doesn't even have a pedometer? seriously? sunrise and sunset times are gone too?! and that with a multi-band radio controlled watch? the watch has by far the fewest functions and costs an unjustified amount of money. ok, looks relatively good, but other values count. I've now decided for outddor sport and activity to go for a garmin epix or tactics, it makes you dizzy what they can do.
