It can be a very difficult hill for any vehicle. The park lux has struggled many times, so the 500 done well to get up there.

Awesome build. Any future plans for a full aftermarket exhaust and tune for the Tank 500?

Hi we love all you reviews. We are in the market of buying a new car , tossing up between ford everest sport and the tank 500 .my dilemma is longevity of the any vehicle. We're not into wild off road driving, more gravel roads and tracks and potable towing 2.5t caravan . So at the moment we have 2004 santa fe with only 252 thousand ks.so not average driving but hill country. So in your opinion, what I'm getting at,is will the tank 500 go the distance . regards Gil

And all the parts for the Cannon utes seem plug and play... Will they be able to be sold out in South Africa 🇿🇦 and be fitted by local 4x4 fitment centres or does it need a touch of SAVAGE

Metallurgist here. 3:10 Martensitic and ferritic stainless steels are indeed magnetic. Austenitic are not. Magnet testing stainless steel without being educated on the topic is a fallacy. Hope that helps someone

So when building on a tank 500 platform should one take into consideration getting a new and upgraded driveshaft to avoid stock mechanical error. Imagine being in a remote environment alone and this happening.

Are you investigating GVM upgrades as well??

I had a tank 300 (smaller one) behind me yesterday. They look like a modernized soviet era UAZ 469 like the new plasticy edition. The 500 looks like a landcruiser copy

Have you found a fix for the annoying driver monitoring yet without having to turn it off every time you drive the car?

@@andrewboucher3172 yes tape over the camera.

I’m guessing this will be a software fix in the next year, cars will get software updated at service intervals. Hopefully an ability to turn down sensitivity and or turn off and make that part of memory linked to the key. In the meantime, what he said ^ 👍🏻 use tape

Would you say the factory components are not adequately strong based on this then? Is this something GWM need to fix in future releases? Or did you push it beyond a reasonable point?
@SavageTechAustralia4 ай бұрын
@@BrankoKes I'm pushing it beyond what the general public will do. It doesn't matter what vehicle you look at the all break when pushed off road in extreme conditions. Put it this way a 100k lc300 would not get up what I'm doing.

This happens in China too after user lifts the car higher and puts on bigger wheels. You have to get the torque output re-tuned after doing those modifications.

Or get longer UCA's and a diff drop to get the geometry correct again. Pretty common failure point with lifts in IFS vehicles.

My Tank 500 has busted going over a regular gravel road. squealing sounds and the foot step wont close.
@SavageTechAustralia3 ай бұрын
@@jamesrobertwhitaker2599 not sure what you are talking about but the side steps have taking a massive beating. The cars are top quality and will handle anything let alone a simple gravel road.
