Thanks buddy. I installed mine, but I extended the wire harness and routed it into the box between front seats. My wife did not want to hit it with her knee. :)

Thank you. Hopefully u find a controller that better suits your needs. This was just a install video. I would definitely look at Redarc controllers. More expensive but less of an eye sore.

@@arieljaramillo7096 Yes it should fit as long as it is a Curt brake controller. If u decide to buy another brand of brake controller then you will need to buy a different wire adapter. Also make sure your Lexus is already prewired with the white square plug behind your fuse box above your left foot. Hope that answers your question.

Lets say for a moment that the wiring harness is back ordered and you have to have electric breaks stat. What would you say the Controller to Lexus wire mapping would be? Since I don't have both harnesses in my hand and can only work off of Google images my guess is: Controller Blue => Lexus Yellow Controller White => Lexus White-Black Controller Red 12 V+ => Lexus Green-Yellow Controller Black => Lexus Black

The factory adapter came with my truck in the glove compartment. The wiring diagram was also included. I’ll look for it

Generic color codes for most all brake controllers are red(stoplight), black(power), blue(brakes), and white(ground). Your assumptions above to match Lexus color codes are correct.

just a random question? what brand of coolant do you use for your Lexus GX460?

I believe Pink or Red Peak 50/50. I have used Toyota in the past but the Peak RED/Pink was on sale.

Not needed but it also depends on how ocd you are about routing wires. The bottom black plastic panel needs to come off regardless.

@@GXBOB I have a 2010 Lexus GX 460 Premium. I didn’t have to unscrew anything. The other white one was behind my ebrake tied with electric tape around other cords. I kinda had to dig around because it was hidden in the back, but I found it! Thank you so so much for this video! All the products work great and I would have never been able to figure out how to do this without you! Appreciate it.

Jordan, the issue with 2022 is that there are very little information on it since its so brand new. As far as harnesses go, i don't see any harness adapters that accommodate the 2022. You might have to wait for the market to flood with aftermarket accessories or you might have to go with open end harnesses that require you to find all the wires yourself and tap into them. If you fast forward my video to 3:10, i pretty much show you the wire color codes that you need to make your aftermarket brake controller function. Do me a favor, crawl underneath your driver dash and look for that taped up white plug behind the fuse box. If you see evidence of that then you're in luck. A 2014+ GX plug will work. Mine is a 2017 and yes it’ll work for a 2015. It should already be prewired.

Thats because there are hardly anything on Amazon that is updated on a regular basis. Your best bet is to go directly to the manufacturer of whatever brake booster you plan to purchase and see their available options for wire adapters. Try a company called Redarc. Heard a lot of good stuff about them.

No... this is super ugly and ruins the interior of the GX. The Redarc Elite is hidden away, much nicer finish with Redarc.

I agree with you. But this is about installation and not product review. The price difference is also a factor if you’re on a budget. This does what its supposed to do for $35
