Headlights make such a difference, wow. Discovered your channel as I’m doing research on GX470’s. I currently have a ‘98 Jeep TJ that I daily and do light/moderate off-roading and camping in. I know I’m going to miss driving a manual and have a live front axle, but IFS and Lexus interior looks so much more comfortable. (Not to mention V8 noises lol.) Do you have any advice for someone shopping for a used GX? Thanks!

You’re supposed to tow in 4. Towing in 4d can grande the transmission

Why would you need a transmission cooler if if comes with a towing package?

How come when you floored it it didn’t rev to 4500+ rpm? It seems your transmission should have downshifted another gear.

So did the airbag height adjustment work out? Or do you have to pull the fuse every time?

I’m wondering too!

Did you have to regear your gx470 with the 35s?

Why dont you tow in 4th gear? It does much better in my experinece.and especially with heavy loads.

Lexus recommends this in the manual. You get engine braking too

Just do the airbag sensor trick with washers so when you drive the N position is the desired height for towing.

Couldn't you just run the Ride Height sensor wiring to a Switch in your dash and eliminate the sensor completely? Possibly run direct power from the ignition to Air compressor which would eliminate any computer/sensors/etc from needing to be present for the compressor to turn on and off. You Flip 12v dash switch on for as long as you want the compressor to run for. You could even run the air lines to Air Pressure gauges in your dash to monitor the pressure in the bags and have a reference for what pressures provide what additional load rating for a given ride height. Or someone could maintain their Air system without the airbags, and use it to fill an Air Tank underneath or inside the vehicle for Tire air ups, etc. Though probably need to be careful with the duty cycle of the pump as it's probably not intended to run for long periods of time trying to fill up an air tank as you run high air volume Air Tools off it. I'm looking to buy a GX 470 soon and plan to try leaving in the Air system (minus airbags) to feed an Aluminum air storage tank and see how that functions. Speaking of which, you could also do this and run your Helper Airbags. You'd just need to put Air valves on the air lines to your Helper Airbags, and an airvalve on a storage tank. If you want to fill up the storage tank more, just make sure the air valves are closed on the airbags, and open the valve on the tank. Then the compressor will just feed the tank and the airbag psi will remain unchanged.
