Riding scooters in VN is a must if you want to explore and experience your city. HCMC and Ha Noi are different though so enjoy your scooter experience in Da Nang, or Nha Trang or other smaller beach cities in VN. And I agree with you on the way drivers are in VN, they don't want to get into accidents either so they'll concede on some situations and you do the same, it's just a matter of wanting to get to your destination safely with minimal fuss. I can relate to your finishing your coffee in 15 minutes flat. I do the same with coffee in VN. Another shared experience regarding getting up early in VN. We're not early risers here in the US but we get up early in VN for some reason. Fun tests for you in the coming months regarding becoming localized - 1) can you put on your rain poncho in less than 8 seconds when it starts raining 2) can you squat without falling backward and 3) how to loosen the small plastic bag of soup or fish sauce w the tight rubberband in 2-3 motion instead of fighting with it for 5 minutes :-)
@TravelWithNala3 ай бұрын
🤣🤣🤣 so funny you mention the soup bag because I always cut it with scissors and it explodes and splashed on me. I’m definitely not a local yet. I got the squat down luckily Koreans and Vietnamese have that in common. I haven’t had to scooter in the rain yet. If there’s a slight drizzle I’m calling a grab car 😂 definitely not a local on that one.

😂 I stopped doing my hair like week 2 exactly for the same reason. On payments Timo allows you to easily open a bank account on a tourist visa and it's all app base and it just ties into your wise account so you can make instant deposits. I haven't used cash here in the 4 months since I got it. Just QR payments. If you're enjoying driving you should really do the Hai Van pass. It's easy even on a low power bike. I'm going to join the My An Community Gym... Eventually... Good for you to push though and just go to the gym. Great haul at the night market! Another good video!

I heard about the Timo ‘hack’ a few months ago, I hope they don’t *patch* it by the time I come back to VN in a few months. I was in VN for 4 months last year and knew about Timo bank but only heard about it earlier this year that you can sign up for a bank account with them with just a tourist visa! Will do it asap when I arrive in Vietnam 💯
@teamcoltra3 ай бұрын
@@son_o_day it's not a hack, there's no loophole here. Other banks CAN give tourists bank accounts but they have to update the visa on file every 3 months so I'm guessing most don't want to deal with it. Timo's setup is quick and mostly online, sometimes you have to pop into their store but it's quick.

Your home is your gym untill your routine is solid. Get some free weights and 100 push-ups and 100 crunches to get that routine going. If you can for 3 months, then getting a membership would be cost effective. Its just satisfying a desire or want otherwise. I used to work for membership sales at a gym. Good luck on your endeavor, it takes dedication to get that routine solid.

I'm pretty sure the water they serve at most if not all places are filtered. I don't think the locals drink tap water either but either boil or buy their water. As for ice, if they have a hole in the middle of the ice, then it's filtered ice.
@TravelWithNala3 ай бұрын
Oh really? Well there’s the little ice with the hole and the big chunk ice with the big hole. I was told to never drink the big chunk ice. @quangb84483 ай бұрын
@@TravelWithNala If there's a hole in it, then it came from an ice machine and they use filtered water. It's the big solid block, that could be questionable since it could have been made at home and who knows what type of water they use.
