I just wish she could have hit in the vault Olympic final- she could have been at least once an Olympic vault champion! Her signature vault is still one of the most sought after ones though!

Maroney's landing was not as perfect as claimed. She took a step forward but managed to get people to cover-up/think "stuck vault" by saluting quickly. If you watch in slo-mo you can see her momentum was pushing her forward to her toes and she couldn't hold her "stuck" position for long enough for it to be a true stick.

Cheng Fei has the best form.. How are her legs so straight and glued together during tasks off. Doesn't seem possible. McKayla has leg separation there too, everyone does except her!

Her form from start to end is perfection. Her hop was so minuscule, that is the only “mistake”. Mckaylas height is beautiful, but she has leg separation and didn’t get a perfect stick (in the 2012 vault). If you slow down the video, you see the momentum pushes her to her toes, and she has to step forward, in which she immediately salutes to disguise this.. that is my logic behind Cheng Fei having the best amanar

loved the addition of Produnova's vault at the end! I can see why, at a glance, people prefer Cheng Fei's vault over Maroney's, but Maroney's vault is just phenomenal in terms of height and flight - it more than makes up for the step on landing and edges the win over Cheng Fei's (for me!)

I really love McKayla's... you actually see her open up before she lands whereas Rosu and Cheng both land in the straight position. Rosu has better block than Cheng and IMO is #2 behind Maroney but Cheng really squeaks in that last half twist. McKayla's body straightens in the air, you see her arms open up and then she hits the mat. Freakin' awesome. I speak based only on the vaults in this video so don't blast me.

Maroney's is beautiful, but in my mind I think 1st goes to Cheng. So consistently stuck, and what made it even more amazing was that few had ever done at the time. Maroney's in the team final was close to the best I've ever seen. There are so many Amanars now they're almost getting boring!

The best amanar vault was by Simona amanar, in European Champions in 2000 before the olympics, was perfect.

Oh my Produnova just rocked that vault. My only question is how would she have done if she used the new vaulting horse-she probably would go through the ceiling. It's amazing that the inventors of these skills had the courage to compete these huge vaults. I would be too afraid because I've seen many elite gymnasts miss the vault or their hands slipped off!

That is the nomitave list required by the FIG, the US team will not be announced until after the next training camp coming up this week or next week. It's three per event, two per event in finals, and Biles and Ross are already locked for the AA with Maroney a lock for floor and vault. There is a slight possibility Maroney may compete the AA in which case the the fourth spot, whether it's Dowell Ernst or Ebee, will just be an alternate.

Height isn't everything. Cheng Fei's twisting form was better. She has 3 World titles on the vault and one of the hardest vaults officially named after her. While nobody could ever match Cheng Fei, McKayla is about to be forced out of the limelight by Biles and Skinner.

Yes Fei and Maroney win on form. But Amanar was using the old vaulting horse, not the much easier table. She also created the vault, she did not have the benefit of coaches examining the vault and how others have done it through the years. Yes you can prefer the others amanars all you want, but you cannot really judge Amanar's alongside them as if they all had the same equipment and coaching.

Jordyn is very good, but I do believe Gaby could be better, she won the Olympic Trials because she is wonderful in vault and bars, on beam they are equal, on floor I think Jordyn is better, but needs a better style on the dance movements. We will see who wins! :)

Dowell is on the team. I checked out the roster for Worlds on their site and it's her along with Biles, Maroney and Ross. That's why I said she could do it if she must. Kyla is capable of the Amanar but she only gets it half the time last year. She's been doing only a double this year. And yes, it seems Dowell is set to do UB and BB like the roster said. But I thought only 2 gymnast from one country get to compete event. Not 3.

If Dowell makes the worlds team she will not be competing on vault. They are only allowed to have three gymnasts compete on each event, she would be there for UB and BB. In London all five of them could compete Amanars, Kyla was just the one chosen to not compete. I also wasn't saying that they wouldn't have more, just that the currently do not have ten like you claimed.

I was talking about the US. Russia only has two who currently train it one who is competeing, but they have five who are capable of it. China had one who was training it in Huang, but she retired. As for Romania they're really depleted right now so we haven't even seen what the possibilities are. They all know the importance of vault, it's just not easy to train. The US figured out some secret to it which is why they have so many.

The US is the only country to progress with the Amanar and other big vaults while the other countries seem to dwindle. Romania and China couldn't produce any Amanar vaulter in London. Now US has like over 10 gymnasts who can.

why from the past years..the perfect score for that is 10..and they give scores at 9.7 or higher..why now its the same but added my ther Difficulty score..if its 6.5 sv and her score..let put 9.7..she will get 16.2...

Who is they? China or US? Russia has progressed as well. Not as much as the US but more than China and Romania. They should all learn that the vault is the highest scoring event and it's what helped the US greatly in London. So they better start planning for Rio.
