Lobaznyuk is my favorite gymnast of all time....she really was ahead of her other team mates....underrated totally

Hahahaha the fluff at the beginning is AMAZING. Like, Elise Ray just casually chillin in a field with daisies. Gold. It's nice that they did it for other countries too.

omg i wanna hugh Ekaterina Lobazniuk and tell her she will always be the best and cutetest gymnast of all time, no matter how many medals she has.

You have gotta love Ekata presentation on floor. Great tumbling and awesome presentation and dance. She is also very cute.

Poor Ekaterina Lobaznyuk. One of my favorite gymnasts, but her career was so short. She just needed a little more experience!

A balance check literally used to take you out of the medals, now you can make big mistakes and still fight for gold. Komova, Mustafina and Raisman all had BIG mistakes in London.

Katya's music was Hava Nagila, same as Aly Raisman's (though different versions).

to be fair, if Amy performed to her potential, she could have challenged for the bronze. Unlikely, yes, but certainly possible.

Seeing the stories of the Romanian and Russian kids is truly inspiring. They overcome so much more to achieve what they do than American kids...

Thank you much for this, it was very missing because we only had particular clips which cannot illustrate the atmosphere of this most dramatic AA. One should see it continuously, from the beginning to the tragic end.

You mean the commentators? The commentator during the fluff is Al Trautwig. The other 2 commentators are Elfi Scheigel (greatest Canadian gymnast ever) and Tim Dagget (Olympic Champion in LA '84).

0:17 I'm Japanese and I only understand Japanese, so I made an English sentence with Google Translate. What is the name of this building on the right? Earlier, strangely enough, I had a dream that looked exactly like this building. It's an old video, but I pray to God that someone can give me the answer. By the way, I love Robaznyuk ❤️

Seeing so many nasty routines makes me realize how truly amazing it was for me to see Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin competing in Beijing, it was majic! To me, Shawn Johnson is the best! Go Shawn, I can hardly wait to see her compete in London 2012! Go USA!

@NYCBlonde15 жыл бұрын
It's true. The USA certainly didn't embarrass themselves that year--they got lambasted in the media, but watching the team finals, they did quite well on bars and decently on vault. They made some mistakes, but so did Russia. It came down to--they just weren't as good that year and 4th was about where they should've been. They didn't have the depth & they had some injuries and it all added up to 4th place. You're not always going to have a Mag 7 team.
@jupeter247 жыл бұрын
well, the got upgraded to bronze now that China was DQ that year for lying about their athelete's ages.

@czucksk84life16 жыл бұрын
oh, why did Al have to jynx Zamo after bars!!?!?
@ajimenez1719ify10 жыл бұрын
Back then, the step out of bounds wasnt really catastrophic but in today's code of points it is. Now they count a deduction for the step as well as the technical error that caused the gymnast to take the step.
@ajimenez1719ify9 жыл бұрын
rene ruiz i guess it could go either way. I have also noticed that the commentators didnt really make a big deal about deductions like this back then, but now, its always like "ok thats it! She is out of it!! That was catastrophic!"
@eb74467 жыл бұрын
I don't know, they've probably just gotten more dramatic. It's true you lose more points now - but in the open score system how much you lose is relative to what your overall scoring potential is. Like when Biles could take a 5 tenth deduction for a huge bound forward and out of bounds on floor and easily still win.
@alinutza2417 жыл бұрын
they are so rude that they are taking the medals off like that,so full of yourself,it makes me sick.
@HepburnLove25268 жыл бұрын
uhmmm russia had like 4 MAJOR falls in the team finals how the HELL did they get that silver medal? i mean i watched the event but i can't seem to remember how they got it. it seems impossible to win an Olympic medal with that many falls
@shushunovafan43017 жыл бұрын
Did you read or understand the code?
@sktzn68297 жыл бұрын
That's the thing. A normal team would be out with 1 or 2 falls. The Russian team was so good that even with 4 falls, they managed to place 2nd. If they had fallen 1 or 2 times less, they probably would've been gold, which is why Khorkina was so angry.
@jupeter247 жыл бұрын
They drop the lowest score for each event, so for each of those falls - only one fall counted. They fell twice on balance beam, so they had to count the highest of those.
@mmoran316 жыл бұрын
so like who cares about the commentater? its all about the gymnasts but this is not a usa happy performance but if you like international gymnasts this is your shit
@moontje197912 жыл бұрын
The silver was an insult cause at the 2000 AA something was wrong with the horse fault . It was to low and the reason why alot girls fall while they normally would score high like Svetlana . When you lose cause of mistakes ,it can feel as an insult . Do note that those russians fight harder and more to make their nation proud of them . So to the nation the silver dosn't count . in other words those girls let down their country .
@jupeter247 жыл бұрын
I just found out, they get pension in Russia if they win the gold. So, it would have also been good for them financially. that's too bad, but 4 girls fell in the competition.

@prncesskarleigh How do you know? Lame comment. By this same logic all the Soviets sucked because their state system paid for everything during their training. Just appreciate the gymnastics and don't get worked up over what you imagine to be their context.
