2012 Aerobic Worlds SOFIA - Aerobic Step and Dance Finals - We are Gymnastics!

For obvious reasons, the judges were torn between China and Russia in this final, and decided that the first World Championship title would be a shared one, both teams scoring equally in artistry and execution. The bombshell came from the exotic, artistic and very technically clean Mongolian team, which captivated the audience with its performance. They took bronze, just ahead of traditional powerhouse France.

Sofia seems to be a lucky place for Chinese Aerobic gymnasts. It was in the Bulgarian capital that they first won a bronze in Group at the 2004 World Championships. Eight years later, China is a leader in the new disciplines of Aerobic Dance and Aerobic Step, both of which require an ability to work as a team, high technical knowledge and very hard work. Romania and France, who have moved Aerobic Gymnastics forward in every respect since the first FIG Aerobic Worlds in 1995, took silver and bronze, respectively.
