once upon a time, before the fell of communism, Soviet Union and Bulgarian gymnasts were incomparably superior to the others.. Technically and Artistically, gap between Russians- Bulgarians and rest of the world was huge. After mid 1990s and early 2000s that gap have started to close , and today it's almost gone.. Nowadays, Russians dropping the hoops, ribbons on field and Europeans catching their score easily:))

yes. normally these routines are more like practice. They test each chreography to see what to improve for the final piece. I mean like add more difficulty, get more precise with each moves etc. Some routines change though but slighty i guess.

I completely agree!!! I've been a professional dancer since I was 6 and was in gymnastics and cheerleading since I was 2 1/2....throughout my career I wasn't really exposed to rhythmic gymnastics at all and really wish I would've been when I was a lot younger. anyhow, over the past few yrs, hula hooping or *hoop dancing* has finally started to catch on in the US, but me being 27, most ppl I kno don't take the hoop dancing seriously n think it's childish n a waste of time n on n on. they'll c tho

I might not be the first to mention this, but Bulgaria's finish with their nodding heads... they ended in the pattern of the Olympic rings: three on top, two on bottom. I wonder if that was deliberate?

have u ever seen anything from cirque du soliel? they use A LOT of gymnastic/acrobatics/dance styles that r very very similar to what the ppl in this video r doin. another really cool thing u might wanna check out is a miss pole dance Australia vid. yes, they use poles, but they do not act llike "strippers"....pole dancing is even a category in the miss fitness America compertition now! it's just like gymnastics/acrobatics mixed with some dancing and utilizing a pole as a prop....its really cool

so i watched the another video on here from Montpellier and saw Russia performing the same routine and they made a smooth performance at 02:42 for the All-Around Final compared to here. So was it their first round in the other video and was this there second round here? That was a grave mess up together with the performance from China.
