I feel like both Lexi and Jade looked way sharper today than yesterday. Even though their scores don't seem to reflect that. The idea this routine only scored 0.05 higher than Jade's day 1 is kaflunkeded.

I'm hoping someone can enlighten me here..I'm a dancer..not a gymnast..so I know there is a lot that I do not understand. But can someone please PLEASE explain to me why all these amazing gymnasts never seem to keep their toes pointed throughout the entire routine? It drives me BONKERS. even the best of the best seem to have issues with keeping toes pointed..can someone please explain this to me??
@TSpeaks2 жыл бұрын
On some moves if you have toes pointed it will hit the bar or cause injury. They are expected to keep their toe pointed when they can, but each skill is unique and calls for something different
@rebeccasilver21812 жыл бұрын
Some skills require heel drive to initiate, and then the gymnasts have trouble pointing their feet afterward. You see it a lot on the stalder skills, and to some degree on the Pak salto.
@TheTimo54942 жыл бұрын
As a retired gymnast that back training at 40plus. Toe points are part of gymnastics and this generation is trying to do these ridiculously hard skills so often I think coaches aren't emphasising it as much as old generations did. And they really should point their toes all the time. Especially on beam and floor while leaping and tumbling.

I know it does sound a silly question but why the coach (I don’t remember his name) is wearing gloves? I mean… it’s pretty odd in my opinion
@TheTimo54942 жыл бұрын
It's something he's done for a very long time its his thing

I wore gloves when spotting so my nails wouldn't accidently scrape the gymnasts. My hands didn't slide on their leos either. Win win!

Idk what the move is called, and I hate to be that person, but that straddled transition from high to low bar that Jade and Lexi do is so ugly to me. Impressive of course, but really ugly lol.

Shilese's routine construction is way better than Jordan. Not long ago, Shilese outscored Jordan by nearly one point in Paris bars final. Bail to toe shoot is a deduction trap.

Why Jade is counting a B skill ? Can't she do a Clear Hip Circle ? And what happened to the Church+Gienger ? It was an insane combo.
@colesmith75092 жыл бұрын
She only did the Church + Geinger once or twice in competition because she caught the Church pretty close to the bar. Also, Jade likely got 0.1 deducted on the clear hip because she didn't quite hit the handstand, so it's not worth the 0.1 in difficulty. I still think she should have another D skill in there somewhere. The routine just seems kinda empty

I don't know how the second routine scored that low either. There were more errors, but less than a 10? Was her D score super low?
