It should also be remembered that Giyuu also protected everyone from Muzan's docking. And in the first round against Muzan, it was Giyuu and Gyomei who were carrying the fight. Gyomei being the most powerful and with a ranged weapon, and Giyuu being one of the most powerful, with the best defensive skills and acting as support. They really deserved more attention in the fight (so did Sanemi although his abilities weren't as useful in that scenario), but it was Iguro's last chance to have the spotlight.

And MANY forget that an identical situation happened with Sanemi being saved by Muichiro in the battle against Kokushibou Obviously Gyomei carried more than Giyuu. But Giyuu was much more important than Iguro and Sanemi. Sanemi did nothing special and Iguro did nothing special either until the second round. He was there from the beginning fighting against Muzan, he saved Tanjiro from the beginning, he was a support in the fight (which in the context of the fight was very important) and Inosuke revealed that it was Gyomei and Giyuu who saved them from Muzan's attack (even when Iguro could see the transparent world) Gyomei and Sanemi are the Demon Slayer's sword while Gyomei and Giyuu are the Demon Slayer's shield
