In the context of the recent passing of Robin Williams, I've been starting to think that Gypsy Bard is about what it's like to be a comedian. I know that probably wasn't the exact intention of Pinkie's characterization in Friendship is Witchcraft, but it makes for very rich headcanon. That Pinkie's comedic personality is her own form zen that keeps her in balance with the inner voices of depression and existentialism.

I can almost relate with you. I love the song, but haven't really _listened_ to it. We've both apparently had someone very special die in our childhoods. When I was only in first grade, my first friend (he was older than me and was more of my brother's friend, but I still saw him as my only friend at the time) he... he suffered from depression. And you can probably see what happened. He commit suicide. I hadn't had another friend for a while, and still after I suffered depression, and honestly, have thought of suicide myself. So now I am basically traumatized, I may still have depression, because I keep getting sad for seemingly no reason. I'm no longer bullied, the things they said about me and the rumors float around my head. My story has probably fallen on deaf ears, but sometimes it helps to get it out
