As a victim of long-term child abuse, myself and my 4 younger siblings resonate with her story & could not be happier for her. We were lucky that we had a great social worker and eventually were adopted from the foster system. That is extremely rare, especially for a large group of 5 teenage siblings. The turmoil she went through kept her from normal social and emotional development. At that point, your logic and emotion is only based on survival . Victims of abuse can truly understand those drastic decisions being your natural instinct to gain freedom and life beyond pain, restriction, and captivity. Gypsy is finally able to have the freedom and life every person deserves. I wish everyone could be as understanding. Congratulations Gypsy! I hope she knows she is so loved and supported 💗

How can her conscience not bother her after shes released but yet the poor young man that she manipulated and got him to do this for her remains in prison .he would've never done this if not for her .she was the mastermind in this, This young man has a disability and because hes a little slow she easily manipulated him!! So no its not fair if they released her they should do the same for him!!!!Shes celebrating without any guilty conscience at all !!Justice system is so unfair and warped!!!

I'm so glad to see all these comments supporting Gypsy. She was a prisoner long before she ever went to prison. Brutally tortured and abused by her own mother. If you'd ever told me that I'd be celebrating the release of a woman who killed her own mother, I wouldn't have believed it. But I am so happy for her! Imagine, she's 32 years old and has never been on a real date. She's missed so many of life milestones. It's time for her to have some fun, and travel, and have new, wonderful experiences. I hope her husband is a truly good person, and that the two of them will be happy together for a long time. I hope she received therapy while she was in prison. I hope she'll get a great book deal and make millions - at least enough to support her financially for the rest of her life. I hope her family protects her from those who might take advantage of her. I just want this young woman to truly be happy.
@just-a-cupcake Жыл бұрын
I'm genuinely so happy for her, but how in the world did her mother convince so many drs she was ill? I'd love to see some sort of investigation into that. Bc if her mother couldn't have so easily convinced medical personnel Gypsy Rose was so sick, that poor girl would've had a much different life.

I’m sorry, abused or not, it feels wrong that she can get a second chance at life while her bf who she convinced to also take part in the murder rots in jail. At the end of the day, both were competent enough to know right from wrong, and still chose to do wrong. How she gets a mere slap on the wrist when even plotting to kill someone shows a person is not mentally stable, is beyond me.
@AliceA333 Жыл бұрын
How anyone can judge somebody for killing their abuser without walking in their shoes is beyond me.
@MissaPality Жыл бұрын
So to give you some better perspective as to the why of your question. She had been gaslit her entire life up to that point into believing she had all these terminal illnesses and needed all these medically necessary surgeries. Once she began to realise the truth, she first planned to tell medical professionals but was never allowed to speak during visits. (Remember, her mother had everyone convinced she had the mentality of a 6 year old.) She eventually ran away, only to be found, brought back, and subjected to even more abuse. Her mother not only physically assaulted her but destroyed her only contact to the outside world. She could not even get access to a phone or any other method of contact to reach out to police or family. Her dad was even prevented from talking to her. When you have tried to get help, break free, and it only backfires and causes harsher abuse, you tend to either resign yourself to the abuse or you take more drastic steps to break free. Psychologically speaking, it is easy to see why she did what she did and why her sentence was considerably less severe than it was for Godejohn. Godejohn was an all too willing participant, in fact had wanted to escalate the act by even more heinous crimes, which is a big factor in his sentence. The things he wanted and had planned to do were not only unneccessary to free Gypsy, but showed a seriously dangerous and deviant intentions.
