This dude is the real deal, man. I think what he was getting at but never explicitly said about the fun of the grind is: knowing I'm on the road bike when my competitors are probably still sleeping IS fun. Nailing a diet to within 10 or 20 calories for an entire week IS fun. Looking in the mirror and being able to look yourself in the eye knowing you're in it, 100%, IS fun. Not to mention, standing on the top step of the podium knowing what it took to get you there. That's REAL fun right there. Also, I never knew that he was always the bridesmaid to Forkner in the amateur days, but it makes perfect sense. Austin was always "The Guy," and then suddenly in the pros when he wasn't right away, he didn't handle it well. Chase had to prove himself his whole life before that, so having to continue to do that and doing so in stride makes perfect sense.

Wow, what a great interview! I enjoyed this whole podcast, thanks for all the hard work in putting this on Jase. I'm rooting for you this 2022 season Chase! You are absolutely a contender. In reference to the bit where Jase mentions that it can be hard in the relationship department to find someone that will put up with how dedicated you are to your careers: The right person will be attracted to your drive and dedication and even help encourage your passion.

@@jacemarincic5496 they talk about how it's hard to find a girlfriend that will put up with them because of how dedicated they are to their careers/passions. So I was commenting for that bit of the long conversation.

I had really strict driven parents that raised me that way. And the moment I left home I went completely the other direction. Chase being disciplined is as much him as his parents.

I think that's natural once you leave the nest, so some degree. Also it depends too like if they're strict but for good reason of if they're just control freaks because there's a massive difference. I have a friend who's dad is a total tyrant because he gets off on it. That's not what it was like for Chase I don't think. Based on what he said it seems like they just knew what he was capable of and didn't want to see him go down the path of Nico Izzi or J-Law or Josh Hansen or the Hill boys. And then in sort of a weird stockholm syndrome effect he grew to actually like that. I think he's going to be a REAL problem for all the other racers in the next few years when he matures. Good luck everybody else!

Chase has been doing good and not falling Last few Supercross races. In a couple years when he fully matures and everything starts clicking, he is going to win championships. He will be one of the greats when his career is over. Had he not fallen so much this season, he would have been ahead in the points

That stuck with me too. I like to think that I'm that way. I'm a musician, and the leader of my own band and other bands around here, weekend warrior type bands that play some of the same places that we play just aren't willing to do what we're willing to do because it's more work. Soft material makes things sound a lot better in an echoey room, so there's this rock club we play where we hang a black comforter behind the drums, and then 2 black sheets on either side of that to dampen the sound. Out of all the videos of other bands I've seen play there, I've never seen anyone hang anything behind them it's just the plaster wall. Just projects all the nasty sound out in to the room, and they don't care. That's one simple easy thing, if they're not even willing to do that, who's to say what else behind the scenes that you'd never know about that they skimp on.

kph easy converted to mph. To convert 240 kph to mph you multiply 240 x .62137119223571 which equals 149.129086128 To get an approximate value with an easy to remember formula simply divide the kph by 1.609 So 240÷1.609 which equals 149.1609695463 So yeah there ya go mate. You were going basically 150 mph riding on the back of a motorcycle. YIKES !!! YOU WERE FKNG FLYING Dude.

One thing i can`t understand about American motocross "culture" is that "I can´t ride for three months because of winter"... We here in Finland have lots of snow and it`s -20°C temperatures, but we still ride around the year. It`s actually great practise to ride in deep snow or slippery ice. After that riding in warm weather feels easier. But yeah, not always riding year around didn`t do anything bad to Sexton! Best tehnique in the sport.

What?.. I don't know a single person that stops riding in the winter. Hell I still ride my street triple some days. The racing season stops, but riding doesn't and I think it's more for viewers than racers. These leagues are all about money, there is no money if no one is showing up.
@djjazzyjeff1232
@djjazzyjeff1232 2 жыл бұрын
I think he means "stops riding" in that you can't just go do motos at the track whenever you want like you can on the coasts, or the rest of the year. Justin Brayton is from Iowa, and he said the same thing. Also you have to realize he IS CURRENTLY 22 years old, when he's talking about that early stuff he couldn't have been on anything bigger than a supermini.

A lot of people don’t ride if the tracks aren’t open in the US. I had raced for like 7 years before I ever rode anything but a track. I rode around my yard a few times as a kid and was straight to the track and didn’t ride unless I was at the track
