Try using a shutter speed below 90 and then use add post motion blur. While no one to my knowledge has done what I'm about to suggest, if the gyro data were used to create motion vectors, and inter-frame parallax comparisons were done to the footage one should be able to use the two together to create near perfect post motion blur vectors, far better than anything currently on the market. One some one implements something like this along with gyro data and a high shutter speed/low shutter angle footage to generate near perfect post motion blur after the fact. Technically one might be able to mimic some of the parallax isolation aspects with the depth map features in Davinci 18

Agreed. As a user of SteadXp, you have to lower your shutter angle. Generally, your shutter angle with a gyro should be 90 degrees. For faster movement as low as 45 degrees.

@@misasis Yup, I've had a SteadXP for about 4 or 5 years now, and I agree the more uncertain ones movements are the faster the shutter needs to be. That said confident, direct movements can be drastically improved even with a relatively high shutter angle. Fourth axis movements like running and walking are where lower shutter angles are going to be needed.

If you are at 180 degree shutter angle, Walking in normal pace with 27-30mm and below FF equivalent, Micro jitters are minimal if not at all noticeable in most cases. For lenses above 30mm FF equivalent and running, my advice is to bring down the shutter angle to 90 degrees. Another tip to stabilize before post(without a gimble); is to use a camera strap. hold the camera outwards away from you and make sure the camera strap has no slack. You will get better results. If you dont want the chance at all to have micro jitters, put the shutter angle at 90 degrees. Test it...you will see that I am right.

Thanks for the test. Good stabilisation, but pretty strong strobing/phasing effects on the blind's highlight areas.

Thank you. I think if I would have had more frames, and higher shutter angle, that would have been less of an issues. You can see in my second video, it’s ways smooth.

Right! Shooting 12K with a wide lens, you could easily master to 8K with stabilization. That's very impressive.

What was your shutter angle? Outside of the motion blur bumps this looks great. It might look perfect if the shutter speed was changed so there isn't any motion blur

I would assume so. My thought is, most of us won’t want to be switching between 180, 90 or 45. Unless your planing that part out.

Sadly the stabilization doesn't work with URSA Broadcast G2 even though it has a gyro.

I like Davinci but don't like the look of gyro/software stabilization, as the image reminds me of an iPhone video. I will stick with IS lenses.
