**NEW INFO** (as of 9/03/24) As we know, Ice Lance received tuning (increased from 75% in pvp to 45%) After thorough testing on the release date of these nerfs, I conclude the Ice Lance build is still the go-to build. Glacial/Ray of Frost do too little damage at the moment to warrant taking these spells. I was peaking around 900k lances in shuffles with only my own modifiers. Still very very solid but a lot more fair than the previous 1.2-1.5 million Keep spamming lances out there boys!

What I appreciate and, what all other KZbin guides miss are all the workings, how and WHEN to use utility and defences etc etc, details on positioning with footage and what to look out for is just phenomenal. The break downs are fantastic. I always wanted to play frost mage due to their slippery and skilled play but, have never really got how the small things work. This is amazing, I've played WoW like 11y now and this is the first PvP guide where I actually feel like it's being broken down so you can really understand the strategy rather than just 'I did this and it worked'. WoW PvP is super unintuitive I think because it's hard to even get a foothold in it, but after this I might really give shuffle a shot

Thanks for the guide. I always liked mages (except for the icy blue color bar lol) just never was any good with them. I couldn't figure out how to get their high damage and this guide has been perfect on how to play them. I'm leveling which is way different than pvp but this guide has helped a lot and I have levelled from 70 to 76 in a couple hours now and getting into the swing of frost mage. Thanks again

Ive watched all 3h and even re-watched done of the parts. Ive been playing since vanila ( and ongoing)but only managed to rank " gladiator" twice. Every season we try some new classes, new approaches, new build. Since mage is my new target this helped a lot. P.S on EU servers your a terget almost 85% of games. Very good guide! One note - Frostfire Empowerment is currently bugged and is supposed to also make Frostfire Bolt guaranteed to crit and deal increased damage (currently does not work with 1 stack of buff). When it is fixed there would be no need to use in into Winter's Chill as its proc would already be "shattered" and would just consume a stack you could have used on Ice Lance.

@@Aeghis Tooltip in hero tree doesn't, but buff tooltip (on character) does. And it did work that way throughout beta till they changed mechanic to Frostbolt like which broke a lot of previous interactions including Frostfire Empowerment.

I would not want to play Arcane for the damage. play frost instead. Arcane has good dmg now yes, but with no CD's they hit like a wet noodle compared to others. been playing Mage on and Off since Legion. besides, you don't need the hardest caster spec in the game to feel like you get a challenge. Arcane mage is more about annoying the enemy and surviving than dealing damage

double dps build is: take out tome of rhonin and arcane warding for 2x cryo freeze take out glacial assault for glacial spike burst rotation is the same best cc usage is to make sure they are not stacked before sending a go, then cheap into sheep or db sheep

Mainly to get your Poly's out quicker. Also a lot of your damage comes from frost bolt into flurry or glacial spike so being able to get those off quicker is nice.

not quite, but that is part of it. haste affects gcd (global cooldown) so you’re able to use spells back to back at a much more efficient rate.

Hey, how do you handle sheeps vs. aoe? I find myself often lowering my dps (not using frost orb, commet etc.) just to avoid un-sheeping someone in 2v2s, but I feel it's wrong and we lose a lot of burst due to that.

Class this! I know it doesn't need to be 'perfect' but is this correct? I re-watched the opener section a few times but it's a bit tricky to keep up with as you go from one part to another. The bit that was sortta confusing was whether you'd Pet Freeze just before or just after the procced Frostfire. Watching it is appears you Pet Nova just before the bolt and it still seemed to benefit Frost Bomb going off. Great video... only critique I have is you're completely wrong on the racials, the Gnome is by far the best racial for two reasons. First outside of those few times when you are battling another gnome, goblin or Vulpera, most of the spells, arrows, bullets, etc go right over you're head. AND even more important is.. we are the smartest class in the game!
