Just had time to finally wear my GG Balfour. It fits perfectly. I am thinking getting a second pair. Should I get the St James or the loafers Monaco. Any comments.

Both are great options. I would ask yourself what you wear more. If you’re trending away from formal dress and the loafers will get more use, it might be the time to incorporate them into your wardrobe. I likewise if you’re heavy on cap toe oxfords and the st James will be one of many... but in the end buy what speaks to you and what you feel will add the most enjoyment to you.

They look similar to CC Westbournes but nicer. I have a westbourne pair but would have preferred to pay twice more for the St. James II. That being said the shape of the Westbourne toe box has something special about it.

How does it compare to the Bonafè?

The Bonafe is very very nice but the leather and sole on this are softer and the comfort on this is much nicer probably because of the asymmetrical nature of this last so it’s ergonomically better.

What is the size and width please in UK size? Would you say these run tighter or larger than Fukuda’s in the same size?

Yohei examined my sizing carefully and we elected to add width to one foot I’ve never found necessary on the GG. They are both the same size.

I have a pair of AS and they’re very nice, but the leather quality and workmanship is closer to CJ than GG. Still very good to great, but GG is great to perfection. It’s subjective for sure, both are outstanding brands.
