I know I should have, but I didn't know the current president, Alexander Stubb. And I must say it was a pleasure to hear him talk about our current situation. He is a person that any country would like to have as president of their country: very educated, well prepared, with a lot of common sense and he is an optimist. The fact that the Finnish people chose him also says a lot about the people.

Agree. That's an extremely naive statement. It's not a given at all that democracy wins. Most of the world isn't in fact democratic. There's only one true democracy on the planet and that's Switzerland, where people can vote on laws directly. Democracy... 😂 gtfo. We all know special interest groups make the rules. Europeans have an extremely high vocabulary. Discussion is an important asset. In addition, they are more intrinsically motivated, which means that standards and values always remain high. Americans are different, more individual, less familial and less culture, not necessarily less, but slightly more superficial. That is also the reason that Trump, Musk, etc. have very limited influence on Europe... decent content is missed

Not much can be expected from Trump when it comes to establishing peace between Ukraine and Russia. Furthermore, China has surpassed the US in the field of AI with Deep Seek. Trump wants to set up a very heavy AI sector with the current Big Tech. It is often forgotten that innovations are more likely to be found in small, new companies (starters), not hindered by bureaucratic rules. Europe can certainly make a difference here and does not necessarily need a heavy high sector for that.

After watching many hours of European politics, reading through the legislation, and working in a very large European bank (EU started as a economic partnership after all), I understand that rarely an European politician will make big statements that are not carefully calculated. Even the so called "public fights" are carefully orchestrated and usually fake. All that happens, happens in the background, because EU is very very political. Stubb will not say anything of importance publicly unless all the pieces are in place and it helps him to make it public.
@krakhedd3 сағат бұрын
I love Stubb, but I think it's exceedingly dangerous to rely on histrionics especially amidst a world enveloped in so much chaos. We need to have clear understandings and clear policies built upon those understandings, regarding who and what we are as people within individual nations or even smaller communities, who we are to the rest of the globe, and what type of world we are seeking and supporting

The negotiation talk is to slow Putin and arm Ukraine. It’s not in Putin’s interest to negotiate and the EU and Ukraine knows that.. they wanted war, now they are getting war
