No, and the reason is because there is just to much low end for hard rock metal. The Neo is much better suited for this. I have both. The H is great for blues music because of the nice sizzle top end

The yellow 4x12 you made with the H creams is a beast. I use it in the summer for the outdoor gigs and it always cuts through perfectly without overpowering the sonic space of other instruments. Such clarity and grunt at the same time!

I actually got my Zilla Fatboy with a V30 + Creamback H exactly 10 years ago this month, and it was thanks to Nolly. Absolutely love it, has been my main cab for tons of different genres and has shaped so much of how I understand tone it's crazy to think about now. Thanks for making such a great product!

I think the A is V30 and B the Creamback, as it sounds more balanced and doesn't have that famous upper midrange fizz going on IMO. That "doesn't get along with the V30" guy is just my case 😂. Although not a metal guy, I'm glad that Nolly sees the Creamback's qualities and surprised at the same time that it's not far away from the V30 in the end. Thanks for another interesting video, Zilla 👍

I have a V30 and H75 cream in my 2x12. The cream sounds more "woody" in the mids and has more highs above ~6k which makes the V30 sound more present from ~4-7k. Hard to say, but blending the cream into the V30 gives it a more mid range "woodiness" (maybe ~600Hz) that can either give it more body and a little more Vox element.

We've been working on a sludgy desert rock album with a lot of different fuzz tones, and our singer's 2x12 Zilla cab with the Creamback H's has proven to be a great recording cab time and time again. paired with a handwired Vox AC30 head and using the amp's normal channel we have a seriously versatile pedal platform amp that can do everything from low baritones to chimey 12-strings. The cab (and the elements) translate nicely to the song miked with various different microphones. I've even thrown a AKG C1000s at it and been pleased with the results. This is one great element, especially in a Zilla 2x12.

I am listening with my krappy iPhone speakers and I am very sure A is the v30 because it has that slightly harsh sizzle in the upper frequencies. The Creamback is more forward in the mids which I like. I am thinking about replacing two of the v30 for G12Hs in my Recto cab.

I put one (Creamback H) in my HIWATT T20 combos as I found the originally fitted Fane speaker too Hi-Fi. Despite being someone who mostly plays fairly clean relying mostly on breakup of the output stage with little output gain, the Creamback adds a character full low to mid growl I like a lot.

I got two OS 412 Mesa cabs, one with 90's V30s and X pattern 2001 V30s/new K100s in the other; a 2012 Orange PPC412 w/ original V30s and lastly a Whitebox 212 with V30/H Creamback mix. I really like the V30/K100 mix but I also have a sweet spot for the V30/H Creamback mix. I think the K100 gives the V30 a punchier low end without being muddy and can really make the sound huge, but the H Creamback gives it a more "in your face" or more open/clearer character compared to the K100 pairing

For me, there is no question at all. Creamback H is one of the best ceramic magnet Celestion speakers ever, and I learned to highly dislike V30's. Creamback H is superior for any type of music and any level of gain. It's balanced way better and doesn't have this horrible bump of the V30. It has way better "resolution" and can reproduce more details. Sure, there are similarities between almost all heavy magnet Celestion models. Way they play low end and control the top end. But EQ wise and resolution wise they are very different. I have to say, though, that most of my conclusions are made with amplifiers and gear that are exceptional and can reproduce every detail possible. Plus, most of the testing, for me, starts at clean and lives in lower gain than this. Also, with some other gear, especially with standard PCB based amplifiers, the difference shrinks a lot. When you have certain type of ceramic pickups in muddy guitars that sound dull and kill details, then with the high gain, amplifiers can make a lot of harmonics and fake top end similar to what happens with the EC women tone. But if you want details, there is no substitute to low turn vintage style pickups that are scatter wound. Once you try boutique pickups, you are spoiled for life 😊 Take, for example, Sunbear pickups you have there in the UK. Stuart builds magic in them. In proper instruments, they just have their own character and all of the details. So yeah, V30 can fit some amplifiers and some styles, but Creamback H can do all of that and do it way better. It will not help some dark and scooped amplifiers as much as V30 will, but it will play more truthfully what comes out of the amplifer plus add some sugar on the top. V30 is more extreme, and that makes it good for mixing with other speakers in the cabinets. But Creamback H is great for that as well. It's great for any application I have tried. From open back 1x12 to bigger cabs with closed back and in mix with a Creamback M, it makes one of the best speaker combinations ever. Only when you get to some D style amplifiers and relatively clean playing some other speakers can fit better. Speakers with less give and extremely high power handling that is. For everything else, Creamback H is one of the best speakers of all brands for me. I have to say that I use Alnico Cream more often, but that's completely another story and has to do more with the amplifiers than with the speskers themselves. Alnico Cream fits better to some point to point amplifiers.

@ZillaCabs if I make the best 1x12 combo amplifier, I can build, I wouldn't be thinking twice over putting a Creamback H in it. If ceramic magnet sound is what a person wants, that's it for me. In the 2x12 combo, I would go with H and M combination.

Would be interesting to hear the H Creamback against the H-30 Heritage. They sound very similar to my ears! The H-30 Heritage has been discontinued tho (unfortunately). There's still the Anniversary, which I like better for metal, but the Heritage was simply the perfect old school rock/heavy metal speaker.

The thing that annoys me with literally all 12" guitar speakers is that there's always a horribly resonant treble peak somewhere, and the best you can get is to have other treble peaks be loud enough to mask it. Or have it be outside the most obnoxious frequencies. This is why I always prefer the sound of guitar apeakers through the mic, where those reaonant treble peaks can cancel out with the mic position. I wanna see passive electronic filters on guitar speakers to dip out the resonant treble frequency, honestly. Loudspeakers have that kind of thing all the time, and bass cabs have crossover circuits for the horn, so it's not like it's unheard of.
