The noise of the 14038 one seems abnormal. If the noise was not caused by the fan controller, the ball bearings of the fan might have been damaged while shipping. You can buy two NMB R-1030ZZMTMNP5P13 LY112L bearings for replacement.(not suitable for the 8038, 8038 useS R-830X10SD57MTMNP5P13 LY551(NMB)/693A3T1XGZZ8MC2ERP5 EA3X5(NSK)))
