Explaining this concept to my wife (who hasn't been watching with me and caught three episodes when I was catching up yesterday - very impressed with the texture of what she saw, along with the level of production quality); think I even surprised myself at how passionate I was getting at describing the story and it's very nature as a puzzle. I actually liked having it untranslated/subtitled. It encouraged deeper attention to the feeling behind the words. Also, instead of reading, I was paying more attention to the sound of the language--I never knew Finnish was so beautiful! Almost reminds me a little of the elven tongue in LoTR.

I think you could say she said what he wanted and needed to hear. He is the star of the series for me, by far. I could see another season with much focus on his adventures.

I think we can safely say that the events at the facility which breached the defenses/killed all those people/and trashed the insides happened after Matteo was zapped by the fence and before Matteo and Manta leave on their trip. The reason Matteo told them to go there to scavenge for supplies was because he knew the facility had been overrun and was empty. No way the villagers could have performed the assault themselves.

It actually helps you understand these mini-episodes if you sleep on it. I watched this as soon as it came out yesterday, and was annoyed too at no translation for what Marta said. But this morning I woke up and thought "duh, she's probably telling him in Finnish that she loves him". (Remember that crack he made when he found her with the other dude in the bar "You speak Finnish now?").

what manta is speaking in the end is finnish (wery badly spoken enyways) but its basicly her saying to topi that she wants to prove to be the times worth that he has spent for looking for her, and she can atone for her sins and wishes to be with topi again. Please tumbs up so people can see this and stop asking, thanks :)

it did advance the story - it told us that Topi and Manta are in touch (through the chip he found?), it told us where she's going and why. the finish bit at the end, now that we know what it said (thanks latensi!) just added to the character development, which is also important, but we could get the sentiment of what was said from the looks on their faces. it was clear that this was an emotional rather than an informational message.

I got into this when they had released 33 episodes and watched them all in a continuous sitting an early morning. (Yep, that did wire me up strangely for the day.) OFC it was annoying to have to wait when suddenly there was no more episodes available. Now I rather like the fact that we have to wait. I've expressed a lot of opinions about the series over the weeks, and I'll add this - what finally made people turn on Lost in a big way was the lack of resolution. Yes, Lost was a phenom for a season or 3, but then people got sick of the never ending circles of plot that were never resolved. Some resolution is necessary, and it has to be actual resolution, not pretend resolution. Just one of my many thoughts I've had. I really like the series. I'm interested how the spiritual angle fits in

Topi rocks. Anyone get a translation on the Finnish? Running to the Vatican from San Vito? Which San Vito. There is more than one San Vito in Italy. The most known one is about 200 miles from Rome on the heel of the boot facing the Adriatic coast. I wonder if San Vito was chosen because it's near a former USAF Special Operations Command operating location, and and was also a USAF Electronic Security Detachment.

wish the episodes were longer. a 15 minute episode would be a nice length to watch. I have a really short tv attention span (since watching too many cartoons with the kids) and I enjoy the shorter pieces. But they are too short - the feel is too choppy and we don't need an ad every 2:30 minutes. Maybe that is the point though of the shorts. That said I am marathoning through them all in a couple of sittings.

First of all, there ARE ads, same as on television, which can admittedly be skipped. Same can be said for DVR though. Second, I get the distinct impression that this series is being created largely to gauge audience response to this format. It's experimental. Therefore, if people don't like it, they should say so. I think, though, that the general response has been positive. The fact that most of the "complaints" are by people demanding more is a /good/ sign.

I really like this series, but as someone said about the last episode (37) the episodes are too short combined with too many characters to remember. This series also jumps around way too much. Episode 37 is set 8 years "before it happened" but this one set 2 years "after it happened". That's way too confusing for some people. I also think this should be put on TV, with the adaptations mentioned above. It's better than a lot of shows on now.

I was thinking at first those bodies hadn't been dead very long, but now I'm not sure. But, two years? I doubt they died in the event, sitting outside. They'd be a god awful mess. There wouldn't be much skin left, I don't think, after being exposed to the Italian sun for two years. Could they have been killed by Matteo's group come looking for supplies? Or Manta? We know she can kill lots, quite quickly. We didn't see such bodies the first time Matteo was there. It's plain Matteos' group

Plot devices are devices for a reason - you know that eventually it would have come out in a future episode. I'm one of trh people who was really excited about Lost, but I couldn't even make it a full 2 seasons for the very reason you stated above. To me, it became like the very worst in tv enterrtainment....a never ending soap opera. I
