what makes Holmes story so interesting is that he murdered out of pure greed. He wanted to take people for all they were worth and would take down anyone who got in his way of getting what he wanted. He in some ways is the worst kind of murderer, the greedy, no good confidence murderer, not only to take their life, but their future too. He truely only cared about himself and his own ability to take people for whatever they were worth, even if it it also meant their life.

Surely someone has noticed Holmes gets in his time machine and travels from 1882 back to 1866 at one point. I love your work, however, computers rarely make a good backdrop - for anything. Good comment. I've been fascinated by Holmes' story for decades. Recently, I've been following organized crime. I have to check myself to remember that we're dealing with murderers and willful perpetrators of violence. The Age of Desensitization? The Space Age began a few days before I was born and I have lived through assassinations, wars, civil unrest, media sensationalizing criminal conduct, multiple gunshots heard at night, little children hit by stray bullets, gang activity, drug dealing, societal decay, and a government and institutions that seem complicit in the downfall of our way of life. And maybe our way of life wasn't so good to begin with. I'm not making excuses. We all know right from wrong. Maybe many of us are just fascinated by those with the "grit" to disregard the dictates of right conduct and go whole-hog in doing wrong.

Subbing. But the transitions between segments need to be less intrusive. The music currently too loud and long in the style of 1990's cheap tv shows breaking for commercials. And the sound effects are not consistent with the program's theme. Try shimmer stings with vignetting a corner of the screen with smokey black under readable white title lettering? A few tweaks and you've got another hit! Good luck.

First and foremost, I love this channel. Your coverage of the many serial murderers is excellent. I have degrees in both criminal justice and criminal psychology. I am almost finished with my masters in criminal psychology. I have shared this channel with my class numerous times and it never fails to enlighten, thank you! I do take on issue that has been repeatedly on your channel that I feel it necessary to address. You have said in several of your videos on serial killers that they were in love...not likely my friend. I know this is a common term but I would implore you to avoid this mistake. These killers are infatuated and likely enjoy or love what they can get out of the other person. They don't love so much as use to their advantage. At any rate, this is but a small complaint. I have always enjoyed your coverage as it is very well done and informative.

Great video! I do have some constructive criticism though. The pings don't really seem to fit the atmosphere of the video, maybe try another sound or leave them out entirely and just have the words appear animated on the screen. Also, whenever the music gets louder it gets a little too loud, I like it but maybe try to make the transition a little bit more subtle. Anyway, great video otherwise Simon! The channel is new so I'm sure there is a lot of room to grow still! He was never a serious suspect for it. He was never in England during the time of the Jack the Ripper killings and by the time he was caught he admitted to 27 murders, which was likely extremely exaggerated. Given that he admitted to multiple murders he didn't commit, if he was Jack the Ripper, he definitely would've said so.

I love all the channels you present on, Simon luv, but it's not statistically possible for Holmes to be the first serial killer in the US. The most inventive, maybe, but there's no way the country existed for over a century with no serial killers.
@sonniepronounceds-au-ni9287
@sonniepronounceds-au-ni9287 5 жыл бұрын
True, but he isn't the one who started it. H.H. Holmes is often called that and is just the first person caught that we have record of who meets the idea people have of a serial killer. The bloody benders started their killing in 1870s, but they were never caught. The bodies were found. It was pretty lawless in a lot of parts, so it was easy to not get caught. Killing lots of people in duels or shoot outs doesn't count.
@sonniepronounceds-au-ni9287

I'm wrong. The Harpe brothers are considered to be the first serial killers in the U.S. They started their killing spree in the 1790s but killed a lot of people fighting for the British in the Revolution. They were a part of a rape gang during the war and killed a lot of colonists. They were Scottish immigrants not English. They admitted to killing 39 people, but it is suspected that the number exceeds 60. They killed a lot of infants too because their crying annoyed them. Lots of them were their own children born to the two wives they held prisoner and raped. They were messed up.
