I really love the remake's version of Martin. In the original, he was a neglectful, abusive father. It seemed like he didn't give two shits about his family in any way. He was almost TOO evil that it made you wonder why the wife hadn't left him much earlier, or at least called the police on him. But in this version we see him attempting to make a very genuine connection with his daughter. We know that Martin hit Banzo with the car, but we never knew if it was an accident or on purpose. The original cartoony level villain Martin would make you think it was on purpose, but this version makes you think it was an accident. You hear the hint of sadness in his voice as he talks about the dog going away and coming back. The connection Martin is making with his daughter is genuine and with love and care. It seems like he genuinely loves his family. Of course, even despite that, we know that he's a monster. Banzo being alive in the form of the plush means that he likely did something sick and twisted with the dog's body, if this is the same type of Martin that we know. Anyways I'm tired now so no more yapping but long story short: good shit

I'm genuinely speechless at how amazing this is! Everything from the pacing, visuals, animation, & setting is astounding! Especially when you compare it to the original "Wake up Banzo" video. That's not to say the original is bad.. I think that albeit a little wonky, we simply wouldn't have this series as it is now if it wasn't for the heart put into it from the beginning. Martin is shaping up to be a more fleshed out and interesting character. We know from future episodes that Martin despises Banzo, and that he doesn't feel bad for killing the dog or for using it as an experiment; but from his interaction with Macy, you really don't get that impression. I'm almost convinced Martin could be potentially re-written into being a more 'empathetic' person, but that just wouldn't fit the rest of the story we've already seen, which makes his future actions all the more unsettling. Banzo's reveal was also a great surprise! I remember watching old KZbinr's reaction to this episode a few years ago, and I think there wasn't a single person who could follow along with the 'timeline' on the camera feed and overall they didn't understand what was being shown. Even some old KZbin comments couldn't discern Banzo's whimpering without Battington needing to clarify some bits in the comments. That problem is completely removed with this Remaster. It's concise, it's effective, and you can follow along so much more without stopping to catch your barrings. Banzo never felt intimidating to me, he always looked a little goofy and I considered him to be the least scary in the series. Here, though, I was amazed about how much is shown with such little screen time! Replacing his whimper with a loud thumping revealed to be his tail is such a great idea! Banzo turning from the darkness looked terrifying.. from behind the boxes he almost resembled a Gator - and now I'm finally pleased with Banzo as a monster. The final scene gave us a glimpse of Remastered Gloria (in my opinion one of the freakiest characters in the series), and Banzo's slow movement on the dresser still felt so fluid and believable. That was until he stood up and started looking around FULLY ANIMATED. His ears swayed with his head turn, his motion was succinct, and I think that's what really sold me on Battington's improvement as an animator. The last scene had no forced 'analog horror', loud jumpscare, or filler ambience. Banzo briefly stares into the camera in a way that's just unnerving.. that's the only way I can describe it. I love your work Battington! All the little artistic details don't go unnoticed! Keep doing what you're doing!

DUDE the Martin interpretation in the new version of the series is SO MUCH BETTER. To hear him actually attempting to be nice and warm to Macy lets those undertones of venom and hate really shine through in a terrifying way. I’m not sure why but I like how you’ve redesigned Banzo, his monster version, and Gloria’s ghost. The old Banzo doll model looked significantly different. He didn’t have a lower jaw, his head was shaped differently, and looked more like a rabbit than a dog. But now this one does have a lower jaw, has a different head shape, and also looks like a puppy. And then the biggest redesign which is my favorite is the redesign for Banzo’s nightmare variant. The original design had more of a dad bod and also still had that plush look while still being terrifying. But the redesign is significantly better, he now has fur, some realistic teeth, and looks more organic and dog like, and he also doesn’t have his dad bod anymore. And now Gloria’s redesign, even though we haven’t seen it fully, they look significantly better, due to them not having the photoshopped face. But hey, even though I like these newer designs, doesn’t mean I don’t like the old ones too. I just wanted to clarify that so I didn’t sound like I was being nick picky or somethin

Hey I gotta say Bonzo’s original beast form I was always iffy about because I felt like it leaned way too much into FNAF territory with the animatronic look it had. I thought it’d be better if he looked like an actual hellhound and you evil genius you straight up took it right out of my brain and he looks terrifying!! Love this remaster, stellar performance as Martin as per usual and this remaster of Bonzo’s beast form I gotta repeat is peak! And I LOVE that instead of a room in the house like in the original Bonzo is in the dark creepy attic instead which really feeds on that fear of what lurks in our houses when we hear a bump in the night and we’re scared of going into basements or attics. Keep up the great work man you’re awesome!! I’ve been here at the beginning and I intend on seeing it all the way through to the end!!🤘

So we know Martin hit Banzo with his car in S2, but the worst part is he probably didn't tell Macy about it. So Macy is under the belief that Banzo is just lost or alone somewhere in the woods, when in reality, Martin took the dead dog and put it into the Banzo/Stitch-Buddy doll he made. While this could've been just a means of disposing the body using his knowledge on demons and toy-tinkering, he also could've just done it so Macy wouldn't have their relationship tethered with who she considered a close member of the family. He tried to, forgive the pun, stitch back together a horrible accident which he was the cause of. He tried to make amends by defying god for his daughter. This was also the catalyst however for future events, as Martin now realizes that he has the power to make toys powered by souls. I believe Stitch-Buddy was the first of its kind for Martin, the first time he had used a ritual to trap a soul inside of a doll. Banzo is completely trapped inside the doll, and you can tell by the whimpering he lets out that he's scared and confused, eventually finding out about his new body and by extension his new life. It's unclear at the moment whether it's like in the old series, where Banzo could morph into both his doll form and his monster form interchangeably. But i believe Banzo is now stuck in this monster-like form of his out of his confusion and fear, and reverts back to his primal instincts. This is probably why he attacked Arthur, because he's scared and confused and probably doesn't recognize Arthur in the darkness of the attic. We know Banzo, despite being put in the doll by demonic powers, might have partial control over his actions judging by the time he is told to kill Ava in "Rebirth", yet there is an option to spare her. That however, is also pretty unclear judging how that was also apart of the old draft of Season 1, though i choose to believe that because it makes his character more interesting.
