When Oregon dungeness crabs are undersized, they are sold to Chinese buffet restaurants. That is why it is so cheap. Normally buffet restaurtns can get dungeness crabs at one third or one fourth price compared to retail price. Didn't you notice the crabs are quite smaller than the ones in Costco? That being said, it is still a bargain to eat at Chinese buffet restaurants because the owners know how to get cheap ingredients and passed the discount to consumers.

Just the other day, I went to the local Asian supermarket called Great Wall Supermarket shopping for groceries, blue crabs are labeled 6.99 per pound. Seafood are not cheap in Atlanta.

Here in Pittsburgh, we have Many More Marketplace. It is an Asian supermarket selling many seafood including some live ones. The blue crabs is 4.99 per pound.
