HK MR 762 A1 is the correct choice. Everyone should own both rifles but get the HK MR 762 A1 first It's less weight, better barrel, HK MR 762 A1 German made magazines are $39 bucks each wholesale price, it's HK not Sig, it just runs and eats everything. The HK MR 762 A1 is less weight and has a better barrel, I mentioned that twice because it's that important.

There is already HK MR308A6 on the way, with titanium parts to reduce weight and side charging handle for better silencer usage. Has already been adopted by the German military as G210 and might become available for civilians in the future. Simply the superior gun to the Sig. There are videos of that gun in sniper grey from this year's EnforeTac and it looks sic!

the Sig Spear M7 brings cutting-edge features and has that military lineage as the new NGSW rifle. It's hard to pick a ‘king’ because they each have their strengths, but for me, the MR762 feels like the classic choice, while the Spear M7 is the way forward.

Regarding ambi controls... the real M110A1 does have ambi bolt release, mag release, and safety, just like the Sig Spear. The MR762A1 "clone" does not have full ambi controls.

Whelp, a $12K weapon should be a bit more refined than one that is coming in at $4.2K. So yeah, I can concede the win to the HK. That being said, if you look in terms of price to performance the MCX Spear is the clear winner. From what I can see with this showdown it seems to be capable of 99.5% of what the HK can do for a little over 1/3rd of its price. Even so, what I would like to see in the future, is a standoff on what they can do shooting at long distance, can the HK truly get tighter groups at range over the Spear? That was not demonstrated, so I am still a bit skeptical that the HK truly outperforms the Sig. A thing to note. The 308 version of this rifle only offers changes in the barrel length. If you want to change the caliber you need to invest in the one that is chambered in 6.8X51. Even then, I have not seen much of anything being released for it on the Sig website. No replacement barrels, no caliber conversions, the magazines are sold out .... So far with Sig there been nothing but promises and no beef.😒

thats something I really noticed with my Ruger SFAR, the bolt is shunky. It goes shunk back and shunk forward. For rapid firing it is less than ideal.

Sig should have gotten with POF and took pointers on scaling the 308 platform into a light weight DI AR15 size rifle. My personal favorite is the Spear. I run the 308 13in SBR version with a suppressor and the rifle is good for CQB to 700m. Shooting an AR15 is fun but shooting the 308 you feel sorry for the target that gets hit.
