That's called Folk metal. One of my favorite subgenres because of how it can sound so drastically different depending on where it comes from. Tennger Calvary is another example of Folk metal. Mongolian folk metal! Metal + Erhu = Yes please!

Dude, any Japanese song can be an anime opening. There are a lot of anime openings that weren't even specifically made for an anime but were chosen by the director and then got they got the rights to it. Anime theme songs are also from every genre of japanese music. I get what you mean, but honestly you could say any japanese song sounds like an anime opening.
