What a coincidence! Right after we watched your clip, on the same day we visited a historical site (Schneider Haus in Region of Waterloo, Ontario) including a small museum showing artifacts and history of local indigenous tribes, whose traditional diet consist of 4 main foods: game, fish, blueberries and wild rice. Surprisingly I saw this statement from an indigenous displayed on the wall. This explained why the coyote also took the beaver's tail: "My mom's catch beavers. She's bring them home and skin them... She would cook the beaver, sometimes she would smoke it too. Sometimes she would feed us that tail, that beaver tail." (Sorry for the loss... I translated your clip to my Canadian husband; he also wondered if you named the beaver after the famous Canadian singer :-)
