I really enjoyed this book. I lost my mom when I was 14 and grieved the loss of all that was and what could have been for her and us. Now as a mom to an adult daughter, I strive to relay so much to her about my failures, successes and greatest joy: Her. Thank you for sharing your story. 💛

I learned about Michaelle Zauner's autobiography after shopping at H - Mart for the first time. I lost my uncle this Christmas, so this is perfect timing to learn about her life. - Justice Constantine

I am definitely not a Korean person, but, boy-oh-boy! How much in my guts I can relate to every word in this interview! A book would be even more attuned to my experience! Thank you for the introduction! Have a Happy holiday and a Happy New Year!

I just picked up Crying in Hmart a few weeks ago and haven’t read it yet, love this interview and can’t wait to read it! I definitely understand the challenges of having family that are super rooted in a culture you aren’t familiar with, that’s how I am with my family from Jordan. I think we can all relate to food being a connection to your culture and a way to share your love for your culture to your family.

As a Korean i must say.. Michelle Zauner--shame on you to named your band "Japanese Breakfast"👎👎 you're literally advertising Japanese culture. Please change your band name to different name or Korean Breakfast.

1. 일단 미셸은 한국인이 아님. 어머니께서 한국인이셨지, 미셸은 아님. 2. 일본 문화를 미셸이 배척할 이유가 있을까? 게다가 '재패니즈 아침식사'가 무엇을 의미하는지 님은 모르잖아. 일본 문화를 홍보하는게 아닐 수도 있는건데? 3. 마지막에 '한국 아침식사'로 바꾸라는 말 보면 님 지이이인짜 없어보임. 아니 쟤가 국뽕캐야?? 자기가 하고 싶은대로 사는데 밴드 이름을 '한국 아침식사'로 바꾸라는 꼰대같은 짓좀 하지 마;;

Poor brother/sister, you can only think of her band name for this interview (completely irrelevant). In another interview she explained how she made the band name... Sorry to say this, you are not matured enough to make any comments... Go and educate yourself.

I enjoyed your book, which my daughter presented to me, saying she cried several times while she read it. One thing I'd like to let you know is a name of a misused Korean word: sesame leaves(깻잎) should be perllia leaves.
