This new gear seems to follow your move away from soybeans and corn. I love the way it narrows for road travel or gate passage. Good luck with the new crop plan and gear. You continue to amaze me, since I grew up with loose hay and small square bales. Even my brother was named after Maine Hay, timothy.

It's two Vicon Lely Acrobats with a couple of rams. I had a single Acrobat which I had to alter with muscle nearly 50 years ago. In nice dry hay it was good but otherwise it ropes the hay. The settings were spread, double windrow and rowing up for the baler.

As i came to Canada i was surprised that here (and the USA) this style of rake are still in use. In Germany (where im from) we quit using this style about 30 years ago in our Farm. We use now the windrowers. We find that they are working better because the rake twist the hay in the swat.

What a.great looking rake, I wish I was closer to you would be definitely interested in your frontier rake. Would be great for finer 2nd and 3rd cutting. Won't rope like a side bar. Great video Thanks.

Cool factor. Yep! Now there ya go. Wes, you've earned everything you've got - above and beyond the call of duty. So you're entitled to a bit o' cool factor. Especially when it's got such a practical use to boot. Thanks for sharing today. :-)

Having spent some hours on an old Farmall with a mower/trail mower, and a double wide rake behind that, I gotta say this is way cool, and productive. When you're paying the bills, production is big.

Even still a rotary rake would definitely be a better job! There's a reason these rakes havent been used in Ireland for nearly twenty years, rotary rakes are more productive, Same with self propelled mowers, they're a thing of the past here, everyone is buying butter flys for a reason
@michaelmckinney8909 жыл бұрын
A rotary rake would be a terrible idea if you did any type of farming there always broken to many moving parts
@endafarrell97629 жыл бұрын
Michael Mckinney not in Ireland cause our neighbours own one for 4 years never broke down
@JCB411abuser9 жыл бұрын
Enda Farrell we own a 4 rotor claas 3000, there is always something broken on it. arms just fly off the damn thing, and i'm from ireland too. the reason we don't use wheel rakes is because of heavy wet crops, ground driven rakes find it difficult to work in our conditions and aswell the heavy stemmy wet crop tends to rope with this type of rake.
@endafarrell97629 жыл бұрын
JCB411abuser ours is a fella 3 wheel and never broke only slows down going difficult hills and sometimes turn off but that's the tractors horsepower
