Must say I'm really impressed with my 37"x12.5"R17's Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT's in snow and ice, had them on my H2 since December for 6000km (3700 miles). Not only are they designed to perform in snow and ice they also meet the three Peak Mountain snowflake rating specifications which means that they are qualified for the mountain pass roads that require it. Plan to get a set of Method Racing beadgrip wheels to go with them this summer.

That Baja Boss AT has some really aggressive siping and I can see that being a great snow tire for sure. Traditionally, mud tires arent good in snow at all, but I think Milestar Patagonias have achieved something very unique with the center rib design. It has an almost AT designed center, than when fully aired almost bows outward. In this snow and ice, I was amazed by the capability of the Patagonia, considering its a true mud tire. My next tire choice may be different, and may well be an AT, we'll see.

Nice. I am amazed. Looks like we have similar interests in vehicles. I followed you channel for the C5 Corvette and just recently ordered the Knight Drive triple round halo lights for my 2002 C5 Magnetic Red Convertible on March 2024. I also own a 2006 H2 Hummer in white which is bone stock. I am curious of the locking differentials. I bought some halo headlights for it which I have not yet installed. My H2 was given to me as a Christmas gift when my wife and I lived in Indianapolis, IN. I would commute to Fort Wayne, IN to work at Steel Dynamics. I had the skid plate powder coated all black with the H2 letters in nickel. I will be taking my H2 to Tucson to a conference and there happens to be a Jeep off road adventure as part of the recreational activity. I am not sure if I will take my H2 to the off road trek but part of me is thinking of doing it. I also own 2 Cadillacs, a 2009 CTS 4 and a 2018 CT6 Platinum. My wife drives the CT6. I also own a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban LT K1500. I am a GM fan as you can see.

Yeah, for sure...GM is a large brand and while I wasnt a huge fan of their mainstream products in the 80s or even some of the 90s, the GM truck line and Corvettes always appealed to me. Cadillac definitely evolved as GM continually involved themselves in motorsport. Hummer was just a great thing that didnt get a chance to evolve enough, but low and behold the EV brand has come out of it. I've often hoped that my variety on the channel would attract similar folks with similar tastes.

I really like the videos on the hummer and of Josh's truck. I'm a little more partial to the latter because I own a 2001 2500 4x4 burb with the 8.1. Like Josh I have to be very mindful of the budget and it's good to see what can be done to make them better in the dirt/snow, even though I don't see to much snow in Phoenix, AZ. Keep the videos coming .

Awesome trucks. We can get almost everywhere. Gonna continue to build and make it better. The tires were a marketplace steal. Patriot 35" MTs... Got them with 70+ % Tread left for....... Wait for it.... $250 Bucks. Definitely not Toyo Open County AT3's that's for sure. In loose gravel and on rocks in the desert they're just fine.

We are huge fans of GMT800's in the Tahoe/Suburban form, and not done with those, by any means. The Tahoe will continue on the channel, as the budget for that entire truck/accessories/build thus far, is likely less than what I paid for the H2, the day I got it. Lots more ahead

I recently discovered your channel and I LOVE it! I’ve owned the first year production 03 for a while and I couldn’t be happier! I’m slowly doing upgrades such as the Kryptonite steering components. Ive stuck with the 35 inch Goodrich KO2’S, as needed, and I REGRET replacing the rear air ride suspension but having replaced it twice over the years so on the 3rd failure I opted for the standard shock system because it’s my daily driver and my TOY on the weekends. Now that I’m retired (YIPPIE) and as finances permit I’ll be doing much, MUCH more regarding upgrades because it’s my collectors item… thanks for the videos!

Having high tire pressure on snow/ice causes them to melt instantly from the ground pressure alone. its important to drop the pressure on the tires to prevent that from happening. beadgrip/beadlock is valuable to go to 8psi and under for deep snow wheeling
@KnightDriveTV
@KnightDriveTV 8 ай бұрын
A lot of people we come across, routinely offroad at 40psi in Vegas, which is quite surprising. Like Josh mentions in the video, the one guy stuck was at 40. Crazy how many do not know to air down, but go into mega remote offroad locations. Out here, the high pressure alone is pure hell on the tire. We have a lot of sharp rock and rough trails

The aftermarket rear tire carrier on Amazon has a drop down feature so you don't have to lift the tire, problem is they are pretty cheaply made. Lighter steal and the welds aren't great. I've bought two and had to do work on both of them, they're also center mounted a little lower, a 40" tire would block the receiver hitch, a a 35" tire clears the hitch, a 37" is pretty close. I like the 40" tires on this, looks good, H2's make 35's look small. I got two with 37's and 1 with 35's trying to wear out the tires that came with it. I really want to get one with 40's on it, but the cost is quite a bit more.

@KnightDriveTV

I am looking at a number of options and mods. I tend to develop smaller/easier to ship, when starting with a particular genre. The steps and big metal parts, requires a lot of logistics costs, warehousing, tricky return policy/hurdles, etc. Its also a niche, expensive product, with high value outcome but potentially limited sales potential vs something with more broad appeal. My first mod is going to be very disruptive in a good way...been thinking about it a long time.

Ive been going back and forth because as heavy as these rigs are, and my type of off-roading, i dont know if id notice much. Just curious. Btw your rig looks outstanding

I just bought a 2004 Suburban z71.. a little bummed I didnt get the 2500. First time getting into overlanding, but hoping I chose a good ride to start. I got a family so had to go with a big boy. 109,000 miles and in pretty great shape. Any suggestions and must do mods? I was thinking of doing the torsion bar delete and conversion to coilovers in the front, getting new HD CV axles, and a suspension lift. What do you recommend for tire size and lift combo? Did you regear with 35" or 37"? Would love to hear from you. Thanks for the hard work love the channel.

You should check out my other videos. I have covered a lot of what youre asking about with the Tahoe and Suburban videos on my channel. Its a tricky conversation on what I think is best, at this stage. We have experienced a lot, installed and changed a lot. I have to say, my Tahoe is pretty much ideal, based on those experiences. I think the trucks need a 35, so then need a lift. The atomic fab front coilovers are a game changer in ride and handling and do really well offroad. They are a tad softly sprung, but you just gotta pump up the dampening.
