This video, without narration even, is the clearest tutorial I've seen on how to wire the FVP for the phantom 2. Got my soldering iron....got my heat shrink tubing....got my wire strippers....I'll let you know how it goes lol (never soldered anything before).

HeliPal That was rough (I'm simply not good at soldering...but it doesn't help that I bought a cheapie Walmart iron and the iron was literally falling apart mid way through....the metal of the iron being melted away), and mine looks kinda ugly (didn't have as much room so I had to put the transmitter a little crooked and the antenna extends out past the landing gear instead of nicely within it like yours) but it works so who gives a crap! I thought for sure that my solder joints were not good enough, but I guess they were. I didn't have one of those wire holders so what might have been a half hour job turned into an hour and 15 minute job lol. Anyway, thanks again...it works. No more guesswork when shooting videos.

Why do i need to connect the Gimbal to the Phantom though the power connect board v2? What does, it do? In another video you made, you just connected the gimbal directly to the Phantom, without the power board. Whats the difference?

Hi, congratulations, very nice video. Question, is there a cable/bus in the rear of the GoPro or is the only connection made through the micro USB port? My Gimbal H3-3D only has the micro USB connector, but I seen some gimbals with a connector in the rear, where the GOPRO connects the LCD panel. So I am not shut if I have the wrong Gimbal. It is the old version of H3-3D gimbal which some client loves it more as using LCD panel doesn't require ribbon which reduce the risk of breaking the ribbon :)

Hi! What is the PIOUT of this gimbal? I assome the 8pin input gets the power and some information to cvontrol pitch angle etc? Is this pinout available somwhere? I ahve no DJi drone but want to used an old gimbal like this for other projects.

Hello, I was wondering what the small module board is that you are tapeing onto the bottom of the phantom next to the antenna that goes from the phantom then to the gimble? When I power up my phantom doing this setup procedure it keeps burning out one of the two resistors right next to the cam plugin inside the phantom. (Its the plugin that is right next to the zenmuse plugin on the main board). There is two little rectangle resistors I guess thats what they are. And one keeps burning out when I power the phantom up. I have noticed in other vids that they dont use that little module that you use between the phantom and the gimble. Didnt know if that could be my problem. I hope this wasnt too lengthy of a question. Any info would be very helpful. Thx

Rollin Dirty On Rails it is a filter that fix a problem for a batch of gimbal that launched in 2014 . The new version of gimbal don't need this filter.

The lines come about from the USB lead connected to the Gopro. The problem is the one connector is used for both video and to charge the Gopro itself and that induces the interference. The trick is to remove the USB plug from the ribbon cable and cover over all but the bottom two connectors with a small piece of sellotape. Only the bottom two connectors are used for the video. It is fiddly to do but it does work,I had the same problem myself. The Gopro will no longer charge in the gimbal but that's not a big deal for me,would rather have the clean picture.
