Yo Ethan, I live in south florida and if we wanted to evacuate from our home, we would have had to leave 2-3 days before they told us to evacuate. Only way to really evacuate is to get a flight; driving is impossible because driving north will take forever. Going from Miami to Orlando would take around 12 hours, and even still you would get hit by it. I know being in south florida is not the best place, but its the only safe place. Closed off in your own home is really the only safe place to be, unless you go to a shelter which is only reserved for people living in the keys and people that live in mobile homes. Im currently in my own home with everything covered, with food and water ready. I wish there was a safer place to go, but sadly there really isnt. either way, im just here chillin on my doorstep watching this madness happen (the winds werent THAT crazy where I live) Papa bless

Anyone who doesn't live under a rock would've known to evacuate atleast a week before the state told us to lol everybody I know has been talking about Irma for atleast 2 weeks. Anyway I think we'll be fine. I live in North-East FL and it's not looking as bad as we thought it would over here. We didn't evacuate either because around my county, most locals know what to expect with hurricanes. We're all pretty experienced with FL's weather and there's usually nothing to worry about. Shutters, wood and sandbags are usually enough to get the job done.

I was born in the US Virgin Islands and then I moved to Miami with my parents, then we moved to Asia then Europe and after five years of not being in America my parents decided to move us to Marathon Florida and on the 5th day of living in Marathon I had to evacuat Florida. But that means all my friends and family in St Thomas were horribly hit by this storm and my new house in the keys was also hit and now my friends that stupidly stayed in Florida, and had the option to leave Florida un like people in the Caribbean are also being hit i feel like im losing every thing but fortunately my parents and I went to north Georgia and right now the only thing keeping me sane is h3h3 videos, so i have to thank Ethan amd Hila for everything and helping my family in the Caribbean and Florida. I wish I could master a second language as well as Hila. It's really tough learning a second language when you're not a child, (of course, it can be difficult as a child, too...) Oh man, I was reading the comments and everyone was encouraging Hila and I didn't know why until I watched it all. Oh man, that is rough. My mom recently got diagnosed with ALS and the doctor said she's probably going to die in the next 3-5 years and leading up to that will be a lot of pain and disability. She also went to her home country to be with her family as a sort of 'farewell' trip to everyone she knows and loves. I understand the pain, Hila, I wish your dad all the best. Papa bless.

dbright I know and don't get me wrong, it still happens in the EU too, nothing really changes that fast. But what baffles me is that your politicians try to argue against global warming. Sure, the world still depends pretty heavily on fuel and gas, but why are these politicians denying global warming? Trump definitely only does it for economic reasons which I understand, but I don't think any reasonable politician should say stuff like 'global warming isn't real'.

dbright I understand that too, and I bet that they have to raise a lot more there than in some of our tiny European countries. However people over here have to do very similar campaigns and raise money, but there's no serious politician denying the reality of climate change. People make other excuses like "oh it's a long process to go green and until then we still need to fund the energy sources and extract what we have" etc. What baffles me is the straight up denial of facts. Over here only the crazies deny stuff like climate change, the need for vaccines etc, and people find them crazy too. In Eastern Europe there is not much movement towards clean energy yet, our countries abide by the EU standards at least, but there's no one straight up saying things like climate change is not real. I really do understand the financial and political reasons behind not backing green energy, I don't understand the lies about scientific facts though.
