Tom has an older video online where he talks about writing a story in public school (grade 3 or 4 I think)...he worked his ass off on it, was super proud and the teacher flunked him, writing a bunch of negative BS on the short story. He went home that day confused and super upset, then showed the story to his dad. His dad was blown away by the story and couldn't understand why the teacher had failed him on it. His dad then sent the story to a published author who read it and was shocked that a child wrote it and could only conclude the teacher was jealous of Tom's ability. The author then personally wrote a letter to that teacher asking for clarification over her terrible judgement and negative comments over a child who was cleary gifted. The teacher quit over the incident. The point is, not only has Tom always been a gifted writer but he's always been fighting haters at one level or another. Honestly the guy paints pictures with his words.

Thanks for sharing. I haven't heard this story until today. Some teachers suck. I took art in school. There were 2 art teachers. My project was doing a painting of a country church. Took me a month (this was my final). Finished it went to go turn it into my teacher. The other art teacher told me "well it is about time. It took you long enough". Crushed me...but on a good note. I gave it to my Mom and it stayed by her chair for decades, until she passed. One of the best paintings I have ever done:) #HOG4LIFE

"No Quarter" This is a fighting/war term meaning "No Mercy". I believe Tom is giving mad respect to Led Zeppelin's song "No Quarter" which had it's beginnings in JR Tolkien's 'Lord of the Rings' about a group of underdogs who through many trials & tribulations fight and defeat evil with good because of a deep self belief and the hope that they can save humanity. I believe Tom has gone to war against the sheer stupidity of the unthinking masses & bigotry in all forms to save humanity, so to speak, from themselves.

My favorite all around Tom MacDonald song. It's basically everything all in one 6 minute fire session. It's amazing how Tom can set up a story and follow through and even come back to it subtly at a different time. He paints the picture of every verse perfectly. Tom does collab with a few artists, a couple of his close friends and his girlfriend. I don't think he ever gets paid for it, he just wants to. Madchild, Brandon Hart and Nova Rockafeller and Tom. Amazing collabs. And if you want to go back to the very beginning, his first music video is dark side of the moon. It was ten years ago I think.
