I've this box, and it works quite well for me. Granted, Ive only a 1080P TV. For steaming, it works just fine without buffering. It for sure isn't an Nvidia shield, which I have. But I've no complaints regarding using the latest apks

@Chigz' have you tried changing "HDMI color space and depth" ? Was doing some research on the 4K problems with Android and a portion of the problems you experienced might be because YUV444_8bit or lower has to be selected, 10 or 12 bit cause problems on firmwares that haven't been debugged for 4k playback. Another thing I noticed from the video, the "Fingerprint" has an Android-Nougat reference code, little oversights like that show me that the H96 software team doesn't take pride in their work which is evident in your tests.

Another solution that i have found is that MX Player with the right codec seems to solve the 4K Playback issue in general. Some of the software are not taking the dedicated hardware decoder by default.

Obviously it can't do 4k, it can only do 6k like it says on the box 😂😂😂

Thank you for always guiding us about the tv boxes and tech info , I also checked out your list it really helps , I like the Mi box S just because it has chromecast ultra future proof when.google Stadia becomes live I hope some other tv boxes will soon have the same chromcast Ultra built in for screen mirroring.

Please stop reviewing h6 boxes and take this box off your chart it dont deserve to b there. Realistically a man of your caliber allready knew the box was a rip off scam before it even shipped to your door. Otherwise great videos and channel looking forward to another 905x2 or newer faster boxes coming out soon.

Chigz, thx for honest review and sorry for wasting 8 min from your life.. These boxes would be good in 2014 not now in 4k era. Anyhow even for beginners there are better boxes out there for same price level. I think not only me, but others would be interested to check out the new processor Soc 905 X3, what u think? 😀😁

Disappointing from H96... they really seem to have dropped their game following the original H96+ and H96 Max boxes of a year or so ago.

I don't know Chigz. I guess it's reasonable to believe that the people over at H96 are hitting a certain market of users with this box. They must do some kind of market analysis, wouldn't you think? I'm calling their bluff on this one...lol. I'm doubtful that even first time box buyers will go for it, especially those that do a little homework before buying. I don't think that H96 dropped their game at all, they're just trying to appeal to all markets in a specific spectrum. I try to keep abreast of what's out there. Aside from this box and in retrospect, I've never bought the best, or the first because it rarely represents a value to me. The added cost of either the best or first is something I'm not willing to go for. Now this late in the year, I'm waiting for Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday as I have my own price point on the Beelink GT King (NOT the Pro). Let's see how things unfold. I can't press enter to go to a url on chrome when I disable the onscreen keyboard. It's good to just get the feel for what the current generation is like and move on. I installed linux and rooted it but the framerate on vnc is deplorable. I'd love to see someone creating a distro as it includes an operating system flasher. For now it's just collecting dust under my bed. It is impossible to run a vic-20 emulator on this thing and that is sad. 2 out of 5 for speed.
