HA-AA Native Costume Championship - Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show

This video shows the Saturday night special session at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show for Class 355 HA/AA (Half Arabian/Anglo Arabian) Native Costume CHAMPIONSHIP!
This equine event was held in front of a packed crowd that cheered on these amazing half Arabian horses as they flew around the arena with horses and riders wearing elaborate costumes designed to memorialize the native Bedouin tribes that first started the Arabian horse breed centuries ago.

The champion looked to be a Saddlebred/Arab cross. Stunning!!❤

Yeah, I wouldn't doubt that because crossing the Arabians with Saddlebred is probably the most popular cross breeding.

I just now had a chance to pick out the ones I like the most. I'm pretty much with you, Sarah, because it's tough to narrow it down. I liked the first two that took their victory lap at the end, along with the champion, and the one with the blue and gold costume is hard to overlook, too. And then all the rest are right there with the ones I mentioned.

The Royal Blue/Gold is my favorite costume! But Julia’s horse moves very smooth in the gallop! It’s difficult to see the horse as much as the costume covers. I will say it feels very odd to ride these (what I just call ‘little’) horses in a gallop.😊 They are Beautiful ♥️

I actually chose the Reserve Champion to win. I really loved the tail on that horse. Just gorgeous. I would hate to be a judge.

Thanks Raven, I'll take a look at that reserve champion again. They actually haven't had a chance to look at them to see who I would choose. When I'm editing I'm concentrating on a lot of other things beside the horses.😱😂

The reserve champion was my pick for champion. They are all beautiful. I actually miss the Arabian of old in the late 1990's and early 2000 when they looked like a breed of their own and not like Saddlebred mixes. This from a Saddlebred person myself. They are still my second favorite of all breeds.
