I think xavi was focus too much in ball posesion, dont lose the ball and the players listen to him so they didnt take risk, possesion was more valuable than inside passing,risk,agressiveness. Two of Real Madrid's wins have been solely on the back of Valverde revving up the team through his energy and individual brilliance. In a team where the attack has been sloppy, Valverde alone is helping the team cross the line. Just using last game for both players, he's completed double Raphinha's passes with more accuracy, he ties Raphinha with 3 key passes, he created the same amount of big chances, he won more duels, and he lost possession less times than Raphinha. The only difference is that Raphinha scored 3 goals, which ofc is incredibly impressive, but it is also not Valverde's job. Valverde is just overall the better player, I am willing to hear someone out on Raphinha being the best, but saying "their shouldn't been a debate" (with horrible spelling might I add) is just childish
