Looking Good for the English side in this seasons UCL, and I think I kinda like the new format , getting to watch big games from the start of the campaign. Real Madrid doing what Real Madrid is known for , what a Come back! Aston Villa doing so well, hopefully they can manage the squad with the EPL and other competition too, but I doubt. Arsenal having a good campaign too, though having some big players missing due to injury , hopefully when they get their squad player back they would stand a chance to progress forward easily. Mancity having a stroll in the competition, great coach , great players with experience, I think they are still one of the favorites. Liverpool with the new manager are doing so well , I love how the new manager manages the squad with noticable squad rotation and see them playing free flowing football. Barcelona what a display! Foden was misused by Southgate (unsurprisingly, since he misused most of the English midfield). Foden's natural position is a #10 - creative attacking midfielder. He can play wing, but most teams have better options on the wing, and Foden's strengths are wasted out there. He was great when he had the opportunity to shine in the middle while KDB was out injured for so long last year. As far as comparing Foden and Palmer...why? They're both brilliant, and both are products of Man City's academy. I do feel compelled to point out that while they had almost identical goal scoring statistics for last season - Foden took ZERO penalty kicks, but 9 of Palmer's goals where from the spot. for me it's sesko, just about. reason being because to beat a keeper from that distance is insane! It's true that haalands goal stands out because it's very rare and vincious is an example of supreme techniques. But sesko edges it because nothing gets me out of my seat as much as a sweetly struck powerful strike from distance. It's the only one a keeper SHOULD save, because he see's it all the way, but he won't because the strike is too good

Don’t be silly. It’s not JUST the tournament that is taken into consideration, but international competitions are always rated highest. Ronaldo won it because he scored 68 goals AND the CL. It was impossible to not give him it, he had an incredible year. Modric would have been nowhere near winning it had he not dragged Croatia, who were huge underdogs, to the World Cup final. He did not win it because he won the CL alone. It’s why Cannavaro won it, undeservedly, as he captained Italy to the World Cup.
