The man who asks Django what his name is and Django replies "Django, D is silent." The man replies "I know." That is actor Franco Nero who played the original Django 1966. Even the theme song Django composed by Franco Migliacci is from that original 1966 film as well. A number of Franco Migliacci's western film songs are used in Django Unchained.

The dentist is Christoph Waltz - an Austrian actor, winner of two Oscar awards for supporting roles in Quentin Tarantino's films Inglourious Basterds (2009) (SS Colonel Hans Landa) and Django (2012) (Dr. King Schultz). Both films were made by Quentin Tarantino. So he won an Oscar for being a racist and being an anti-racist. The actor speaks German, French and English fluently. Although he also speaks Italian in Inglourious Basterds, in one of the interviews he admitted that he did not know this language.

Sam Jackson, the “House Nword” Hated by most slaves, but respected and sometimes loved by their owners. I’ve read a lot of books about slavery and the Underground Railroad. There were House Madams too. But they were slaves at the end of the day. Their owners promised them their freedom, but usually never let them go, and if they died, they were sold with the rest of the “property “. When Quentin asked Samuel to play this part, allegedly, Sam said “you want me to play the most hated man on a plantation? Yeah, I’ll do it.”

The firearm Django used was called a "lever-action" rifle. You load the cartridges and ratchet the lever back and forth after each shot, like a shotgun but faster. They were very popular back then and are still available in many calibers in the USA to this day. Even in most states with restrictive gun laws, you can still buy a lever-action rifle. They are a pleasure to shoot as well.

It's hard to believe that German society could have become so deranged, by the mid 20th century (Hitler). Germany was a cradle of civilization. Some of the greatest philosophers, scientists, artists and cultural minds came from Germany. By the end of the 1930s, war, economic disaster and loss of National pride created a kind of collective madness. The climate was ready and eager for a dictator that promises to be return the country to it's former "glory". Events made it possible for Hitler's rise to power.
