Habib University’s 6th Post-colonial Higher Education Conference on ‘The Ethical and the Spiritual in Islam’ was very well received by the audiences. Our honored speaker for day 02, Oludamini Ogunnaike, Assistant Professor of African Religious Thought and Democracy, University of Virginia delivered the keynote address, titled ‘Against the Dying of the Light: The Perils and Imperatives of Decoloniality in Islamic Temporalities’. In his speech, Dr. Ogunnaike highlights various eye-opening aspects of the perils of colonization, one of which was climate change, the most pressing concern of the modern times.
