A bit late to the party but I just bought one today, and can't wait to try mine out.

I knew someone was around talking, but didn't realize who it was until editing. I would've got an interview with him. Thanks for the compliment. I really enjoy getting into design philosophy.

hm the pseudo scandi he talks about isnt a scandi at all... when putting a secondary bevel on it its just a saber. and a poor one as the primary bevel is way to short
@FoxwalkPrimitive9 жыл бұрын
That's a good point. I've always looked at saber grinds as "high scandi" grinds, so to speak. I'm sure he was referring to how low the grind is. If you watch the extended version, he goes into a little bit more depth on why he chose that grind. 1) it's easy to convert into a "true" scandi, and 2) it prolongs the life of the knife's profile over years and years of sharpening. Check it out.

Oops! This is the extended version... my bad.

+Foxwalk Primitive its a way to short grind to be effective in my eyes. in my eyes a knife should be a cutter not a one tool option thats way to overbuilt on the grind in my eyes. but everybody likes different knifes myself is into thin full flat grinds and thats it :-P but very good review thats for sure and extremely good design on the knifes live the belly and the choil bit :-)

I like the look of this blade etc. Do you have New Zealand agent or know of any agent I could purchase knife?
@FoxwalkPrimitive8 жыл бұрын
+Takiri Puriri I would just go through the Habilus website

Most of Habilis designs don't really appeal to me. They look cool, but in the end I'd rather spend money on a more traditionally designed knife that I know I will like. Their Nessmuk really intrigues me though; I might pick one of those up.

I'll be honest... I've felt the same way in the past, but once I got the bushtools in my hands they spoke to me. I've wondered about them for a while, and now I know I like them. Their other traditional designs are great, too.
