In today's video, I want to share more habits I decluttered as a female minimalist. This time I want to focus on mindset changes and how I am becoming more free as a female minimalist leaving behind as many restricting rules and thoughts as possible.

I think this is some of the most down-to-earth and genuine content on the internet. I try to not spend a lot of time on KZbin, but I always circle back to Lia and feel a little more confident after. Thanks, Lia!

Life is quite short. We can all just tend to our own back yard . Minding one’s business is such a gift to others.

Gossip and judgement. That is so insightful and never thought how much it goes hand in hand with minimalism. Sometimes it feels like some people maximize on these two habbits as they minimize their possesions. It's good to be reminded (especially as gently as you did) not to fall into that particular trap.

Love this video. I heard someone say recently that they are no longer looking for like-minded people to be friends with, but open-minded people. This really resonated with me, because I don't have to agree with everything a friend chooses to do, however, the minute we start judging each others choices we are no longer friends.

Hello Lia. I agree 100%. I am so grateful that I gave up caring what anyone thinks of how I dress or what my beliefs are. I love that fact that I do not require or even want others to explain themselves. My favorite saying for 2022 is "This is not my circus and these are not my monkeys". I don't mean this in a derogatory way. It's an internal reminder that I am one monkey and I am not in charge of anything but my own space. Thank you for always sharing your truth to the best of your ability in this moment. And I love that you remind us all that it is "JUST IN THIS MOMENT". Life changes and shifts and what I think right this minute may not be how I perceive something in the future. Have a wonderful summer and enjoy your trip. Have lots of giggles, good food, good rest.

I’m loving how your hair is looking :) regarding shaving, I’m a “social shaver”. I just shave because the people around me do not aprove “not shaving” and I just don’t want to deal with the comments and judgements. Not a big problem during colder months because I don’t show much skin. Do you have that kind of comments/judgements to deal with?

Thank you for putting out such great minimalism content! I tend to easily notice when our friends and family are uncomfortable with our extreme minimalist family lifestyle. However, you have encouraged me to maybe starting thinking if I display signs to others that I am uncomfortable with their non-minimalist lives... I think it's time we not only try to be authentic ourselves, but accept the authenticity of others.

So much wisdom... 😮 it is so hard not to care about what people will think. I always anticipate to much because I don't want to disappoint them. I had particular issues with my family in law who judge me a lot on my cloth, my body hair, my confidence, my opinions... my fiancé is really mad about them and we see them less and less... I finally realized they had to be ashamed of their narrow minds and their lack of love. Not me for what I just am (and believe me, nothing subversive...) 😆

It’s beautiful and fascinating to me that what you see as minimalism I see as spirituality. You really speak from your heart, your soul here or you can use the word authenticity. Thank you for sharing such incredible, deep insights. I’m really going to take what you said and incorporate it. 🤍🌷🌬

As a female minimalist, I've decluttered romantic relationships from my life 😂 I just don't think I really need a boyfriend or a husband now. Probably this will change one day 'cause I'm only 25 now, but I never really needed anyone except for a couple of close friends.

I think you have a lot of profound thoughts on minimalism. I would like if you share your thoughts on living in a house where your husband has no desire to get rid of his stuff. He has lots of stuff and clothes, and even though it is all well taken care of and organized, he wants his stuff. I've been going through my stuff and I know it's less or gone, but it doesn't look that way in the house.

Hi cat I’m in the same situation with my hubby .There is nothing you can do about it . I have been married to my hubby for 32 yrs I am an extreme minimalist he is not he has tons of stuff, just ask him to not bring in more . But don’t touch his stuff . Love is all that matters. Some day he might be gone and you will wish he was there with all his stuff

Minimalist lifestyle around here is a privilege of the wealthy. They live in recreational vehicles, park all season by the lake, and enjoy retirement. Then there are those for whom the minimum amount of possessions are still barely affordable. For them, retirement isn’t an option, and selecting between sustainable and ethically sourced and the local second hand shop isn’t a lifestyle choice, it’s simply life. But then, there are some points, like cosmetic items, are a choice, for some. Depending on where I was waiting tables, my makeup had a real impact on my income, because tipping is the normal social custom. At the diner, while serving breakfast, a pretty, old fashioned apron like my granny wore made me appear trustworthy and hardworking to the older gentleman reminiscing over biscuits and gravy. Waiting tables at the fancy lakeside restaurant, lipstick and low heels were required, because the business men and the couples there expected staff to be well dressed. That’s discrimination clearly, but it took more effort to maintain the lipstick and heels, and extra time to find the right necklace or barrettes to serve drinks and caviar. I didn’t make more at one job over another, once I factored my attire. And I have no delusion that my truck, although second hand, is good for the ecosystem. It is a necessity, even though gasoline is unaffordable. Still, it earns its keep by getting me and my grand babies to the grocery store and the doctors’ offices. Buying a new vehicle, that gets better mileage, and takes less a toll on the environment isn’t possible, and I know a huge insurance bill would make me miserable.

What you say is very interesting and thoughtful. I do like how you are releasing yourself from your own limits and rules. I am minimal in many ways but it has to do with practicability, efficiency and monetary situations. I own very little compared to most because it is easier to take care of, to clean, to keep in order, to track, to fold, to put away, to budget, etc. As far as privilege, that is a word commonly used in certain circles and has no relativity or meaning or any kind of power in my life. I don’t care if people have it or not. If someone has a lot of money, it doesn’t bother me because good and bad people can have a lot of money or waste it or invest it or whatever they want to do with it. Color means nothing as well. If someone has culture to be proud of, European or African decent or whatever, then great and wonderful. As long as people are happy, genuine, respectful and kind when I talk to them or laugh with them, this is all that I look for and find attractive or look for in a person that I can be friends with. 🌻😎🪴
