Kent Hughes : "We did not see Mitchkov play enough games to have a good idea of the player" Also Kent : Imma select this russian, in the same league real quick. I'm not sure if he had more time to see him play (but not Michkov) or he selected him because his scouts said so (+the fast it is much later in the draft, and he is 20yo)

@@radovanbabjak7903exactly 😂 screwing up picking a player at 5th is much more costly than 4th round. And he did not say the reason they did not pick him was just because they didn’t see him play enough. It was one of MULTIPLE reasons that were probably just fronting for the fact that he MAYBE (not saying he does) has an attitude problem and remained very mysterious to many nhl teams especially considering them also not picking him even though they had the chance.

Are you aware that there is a difference of risk between 5th overall and the 4th round ?

@@ledsabbazepplath3889 Of course i'm aware, it's just if you do not have enough info on one guy, that plays in a specific league, how can you can more info on someone else in the same league (given you can have more accurate info in other leagues given the socio-politic around Russia). Was surprised, that's all. My thinking is that Mitchkov did not want to play for Montreal and the group did want to say it at the draft, so they told us about lacking info, too many unknows.

​@@TheMaitreC michkov would of loved to play for Montreal, he wanted a original 6 team according to his agent. If michkov was there in the second round they would have taken him no questions asked, let alone the fourth round. Think of the draft like gambling. Michkov was like betting a fourtune on roulette when you could take it to the poker table and use your know how to secure a safer bet, like reinbacher. The fourth round is like playing a round at the slots, little risk but potential of a high reward. This kid is a stud though , ranked second best in the KHL and is averaging the most minutes on ice (25 minutes),

The Habs also drafted the Russian goalie Yevgeni Volokhin. But, Kent Hughes said that they did not draft Michkov because they didn't see him play enough. Hmmm.

Taking a risks on a couple 5th rounds picks vs taking a risk on 5th overall pick is quite a bit different
