I'm running something similar to what MFJJ ran last year. RIP XV 350's, 27" c to c, 120gr victory glue in fp, victory nock bushing, easton G nocks, 2" tac driver vanes(left helical). TAW 324gr. V3X 33 @ 60#, 80%. 303fps. Thank you for the great content! Good luck!

I’m shooting that exact arrow for tac and I loved it last year. RIP XV elite at 28in with the 150gr glue in points (broken off to 120gr) with an AAE four fletch of the PM 2.0 and they are darts

Just curious Dan, have you given much thought into a 4-vane config. on the rear (w/ slightly less Helical than your norm)? Although you'll be a few grains heavier with the extra vane, you may gain clearance out front under your scope. Is it worth adding that 4th vane? Thoughts? Future video?........

I built Tac arrrows and have been hunting pigs with them for testing purposes. Rip Xv, 150 field tips, AAE max hunters. 365 TAW. 150 grain micro hades and it’s blowing thru pigs crazy fast. Got a complete pass thru the other day and still had enough energy to split a sapling behind the pig.

3D guy here: Those vanes come in about 10.5gr for three, so very light! FWIW, no need for a 3 degree offset with a slight, slim target-type arrow. 1 degree is enough , 2 plenty, and will give you a better trajectory at extended distances and less risk of parachute affect. For me, personally, for long range accuracy, I would go with the Victory VAP, which is heavier (and tougher) than the XV/3DHV, but still light(ish). Could run a 350 spine with 110 or 120gr point for the same weight as the XV you have built and its a 'can't go wrong combination'. I'd bet it would perform better at longer distances, especially with light offset.

Shooting a similar build for tac. Vap 300, 140 gr glue in, with the same vanes in a 4 fletch. They fly awesome at distance in the wind. This year Im testing the same arrow with TAC driver 1.75” vanes which are slightly smaller and lighter yet…..so far they are looking like they will get the nod. ABT

If you were going to use glue-in points and nock bushings anyways, why did you start with the XVs instead of the 3DHVs that come with the bushing and 4mm nock? I'm doing the same for TAC Tennessee this year. I've been hunting with 450 grain VF TKOs the past two years and using them for 3D shoots in the off season, but for TAC I want to reach out there so I built up a batch of 300 spine 3DHV with 150 grain glue in points. 380 grains finished weight launching at 310 fps from my SR6.

Crazy almost the same here except up front running RIP XV 300 spine 26 inch carbon to carbon #mfjj titanium 50 grain inserts and his SS 100 grain field points with aae pm 2.0 3 fletch 2.5* left helical with a total weight 357 see if we can’t hit the caribou for the truck
